The wife and I deep cleaned the house today, and we are beat. We also went through an entire pitcher of this to keep us hydrated (especially after walking to the grocery store and lugging home groceries in his heat…blegh). This is a definite restock for me.

Yum yum yum. My wife and I are drinking this like mad. It still tastes like a blue icee, without the syrupy sweetness, and the mint makes it just beautifully refreshing after being out in the sun.

I’m intrigued! I may have to give this one a go.

QuiltGuppy

I’m hooked and will try it, too. :D

Daddyselephant

Everyone should try this, it’s delicious! If I had more, I’d send out samples, but I only have enough for one more batch to take on our roadtrip with us.

I drank an entire pitcher of this today. That just about says it all.

I think maybe I’ll try it iced myself! and I’ve been thinking about adding mate. or cinnamon.

MaddHatter

I have not tried this one yet. it smells like my Grandma, and I can’t fathom it smelling better brewed…

I am on my third cup of this today…nom nom nom. I think I only have another 1-2 in the pitcher, and I’m suddenly very sad that I didn’t resteep the leaves, as I used up the last of them in this batch. This started off as something to just get a bag out of my cupboard, but has turned into a must-buy restock! Yum yum yum.

Hot, the wife and I were a little disappointed in this one. But iced….it’s so good! It lives up to the promise delivered by the smell of the dry leaves. It’s citrusy and minty without being overly tart, and it is cool and very refreshing on this ridiculously hot Toronto day!

So I am going to have to try this one iced then. And try and forget people are calling it a substitute for Pink Flamingo. Maybe tomorrow.

Daddyselephant

Yeah, I don’t know where people are getting that. It is nothing like Pink Flamingo, but it is sooo good.

I made a gallon of this and I’m sad to report I really don’t like it. It’s weak and the rootbeer taste is overshadowed by the black tea and what I can taste of the root beer just falls flat, in my opinion. I’m chugging it today both because I need to stay hydrated and it’s the only iced tea I have on hand. I’ll be glad to be rid of it, though.

Finished the pitcher, not really interested in a rebuy. So long, friend!

My thoughts exactly. None of the “summer teas” really warrant a rebuy for me.

Daddyselephant

I’ve got midsummer night’s dream cooling in the fridge (cool faster, damn you, it’s hot!). It was the one we were the most excited about…and then most disappointed in.

Brittany

Haha, I was actually tempted to do a DT order a little while back and that Midsummer was the one I was really interested in.

Daddyselephant

It smells amazing…I’ll be sure to let you know how it is iced.

Cattibrie

People keep trying to tell me that Midsummer Night’s Dream is a good substitue for Pink Flamingo. I think that is why I don’t like that one as much. It is nothing like Pink Flamingo as far as I’m concerned.

I got a new perfect mug today (purple and white, like my kitchen!), and decided to break it in with a cup of this standard. But much like the other night, the cord of my kettle was wrapped around the drawer AGAIN and I opened it without looking AGAIN and the kettle started to fall AGAIN and idiot that I am, I reached out to catch it…AGAIN. Luckily it did not spill this time. Tea is out to get me.

I still love it, though. And this tea….it is just love for me.

drank My Morning Mate by Teavana

So I enjoy this tea, but I’ve been on a bit of a “clean the cupboard out” spree. It doesn’t help that I’m going to see my brother (who is kind of into looseleaf, but not as much as I am) in a few weeks and I promised to bring him tea. He loves mate, loves coffee, and lives where he could get to a Teavana if he wants more of this blend, so this is going to him…along with far too many other teas. Apparently I am incredibly not stingy when it comes to gifts of tea for family…he’s even getting a perfect mug! Granted, it’s used, but we have a full set of the DavidsTea birds now (I couldn’t resist the newest one…it’s purple and white, just like my kitchen), and his name is David, so I figured he’d get a kick out of the DavidsTea logo one I have.

Anyway, it’s just like the last time I had it. One sip I love it, but the next sip I can’t stand it. I don’t understand this tea, I just don’t. More for him, I suppose.

Formerly aisling of tea, now you can call me ele .

“You can forgive a murder, but never a mistake while preparing tea.” Chinese proverb

Labels? Here you go: Femme, Wife, Lesbian, Homemaker, Happy. Don’t forget tea fanatic!

New label as of May, 2015: Diabetic. I’m using tea to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings and keep me hydrated without hurting my system or messing with my blood sugar.

Ah, tea. My love for you is ever changing. At my last update, I was all about the rooibos and now I hardly drink it. I only occasionally had an oolong and now I have one just about every day. I’ve learned the art of resteeping and coldbrewing and kombucha. I have a lovely little tea pet named…well, I haven’t decided on a name for him yet. I also have five! live pets, a tabby cat named Rosabella Francis (Bella for short), a ginger cat named Orange Julius Pekoe (Pekoe), a white and grey cat named Earl Jean Grey (Earlie), a tuxedo cat (and the only boy in the house) Prince Erik Darien Darjeeling (JiJi) and a red foot tortoise named Da Hong Pao (Pao). So if you see me referring to my girls, I don’t have kids, just animals.

As for tea, I love oolongs, herbals, and black tea. Since I am no longer working, I no longer feel the constant need for a mate energy boost, though I do still reach for it from time to time. I also drink less matcha, though I do throw a spoonful or two in when I’m making smoothies. Most of my tea I drink coldbrewed, and since I discovered coldbrewed rooibos was giving me headaches, I’m drinking less and less of it. Straight pu-erh is not a thing I enjoy, but there are a few flavored blends I like. Greens are still too finicky for me to bother with hot, but they make great cold brews.

I am by no means a tea purist. I greatly enjoy flavored teas and I put stevia in all of my teas. It’s just how I do.

I think I’m going to name my tea pet Mr. Turtle. Even though he’s a tortoise.
