This is Teas Etc’s newest batch of Golden Monkey, not the tea that came in second place in the World Tea Championship. To be honest, I like this new batch better. It is spicier and more intense. The floral notes seem to mesh better with spice than with the more intense cocoa notes of the last batch. Extraordinary. Yum.

A good example of what a Bao Zhong should be. Light, sweet, and fragrant with a touch of creaminess. Yum.

This gets better and better for me. Definitely bring that water temperature down to maximize the fruit. It gets downright juicy.
Incredibly smooth Assam, rich, malty, slightly sweet.
Still one of my favorites. I like a three-minutes steep best.

Fresh, rich, and creamy. Quite yummy and a standout amongst Yunnan golds.
Extremely light green oolong. Light as a Bao Zhong, but without the sweetness. Green/floral notes. Refined.

Delicate but also tasty and balanced. A nice smooth cup.
Nice balance between the tea and the flavor, which is quite subtle, but still “fruity”.
