Ok, I played around a bit more with this one, and now it’s tasting like I think it should. I used about half the amount of dry leaves as my last two cups (1/2 to 3/4 of a ‘perfect teaspoon’ful). Let it steep four minutes, and voila – that earthy vegetable taste is perfected. I can taste the ‘pumpkin’ flavour still but it’s less overpowering. The spices are now alot less apparent though, (but I could always just add a dash of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon, ginger, etc).
It seems like I prefer to brew some teas a bit weaker than suggested, and this is definitely one of those (although some I like to steep as long as possible, like Buttered Rum).
