I really really reallyyy like this.
I’ve never had Teaopia until yesterday (although it’s much closer to home for me than my new obsession, Davids). And oolongs are new for me as well, but this sounded so tempting. It also smelled great in the tin, and I could see almond slivers, caramel pieces(!!!) and the flowers.
(I like how Teaopia is set up – all of the teas are on some kind of lazy susan deal in the middle of the shop, so you can look at and smell whatever you like, without HAVING to talk to the employees before buying something. Davids is cool but sometimes I like to just browse on my own.)
Anyways, like I said the smell is delicious. Very nutty, and sweet at the end. I want to say it’s like vanilla, but then decide it’s more caramel…but that isn’t it either! So it’s got to be the creamy part I’m getting.
I brewed this for 3 minutes, added a pinch of sugar, and the taste is just like I imagined! So good.
In a way it reminds me of Toasted Walnut from Davids Tea – I fell in LOVE with that tea when I got a sample of it, and haven’t been able to get any since but crave it all the time. Now that I have this though, the cravings won’t be so bad :)
*I noticed this tea has apple pieces in it – I can’t distinguish them from the almond really, and don’t notice any distinct apple flavour (which doesn’t change my opinion of this tea one way or the other, just something I noticed). It also seems that alot of Teaopia’s flavoured teas have apple pieces in them…just kinda interesting to me.
