Between this oolong and the peach oolong, there must be something wrong with my taste buds. I LOVED EVER SO MUCH the strawberry oolong, but these lychee and peach flavourings give me a headache for some reason. The oolong quality is quite good, but it just isn’t working out for me. I have a sample’s worth of both Peach and Lychee Oolong that might need to find a new home.
Actually, I’ll just cold steep what I have left of both and see if that makes it easier to drink. To be continued…
This has definitely been my summer tea, and it has been an absolute pleasure in its company. I really enjoy the change in spices too (so much coriander and ginger :D) This is the perfect chai for me. No need for milk or sweetner. And thankfully there is more of this tea on its way in the mail!
I have been away from my tea stash for 4 days now, while visiting the rents in blazingly hot Indiana. I am going to drink a million gallons of tea when I get home to 18 degree Vancouver on sunday night!!
So anyway, of the 5 DTs i got my mom for Christmas, this is the last remaining pouch. And since I’m now getting sick I can justify a cup of sweet goji berry goodness. Also I haven’t had this tisane in over a year so this is quite exciting and reminiscent of my first taste of crazy tisanes. Verdict: still good!
Go white sox!!
Thank you TeaVivre for the sample!
Smokey teas scare me still, so I dove into this sample with hesitation. It’s also blazing hot outside, but this tea was still enjoyable. 2 western steeps later and I’m liking this tea, although it really is burning me up drinking all this hot liquid. I really didn’t want to let this cool for fear of it being gross ;) It’s probably an unfounded fear anyway. This is a great lightly smokey, sweet and bold black tea. I’m going to save the rest of my sample for cooler weather!
TeaVivre provided me with this sample, but I feel that I cannot properly review it. I brewed this in a gaiwan and rinsed before trying a sip. This is just too strong for my tastes. The scent and taste of the ginseng is what bothers me, I think. I appreciate the diversity of samples provided by this awesome company, but this is unfortunately not my cup of tea.
Thanks TeaVivre for this sample!
Dry leaves are a light jade green colour; very pretty short flat leaves. I really enjoy this dragonwell, more than the premium batch. This is nice and smooth with very little astringency. The envelopping nuttiness is enjoyable, and this has a sweetness to it that I haven’t found before in a dragonwell. Good stuff!
Lucky Charms marshmallows in a cup! I nearly fainted when trying this. My addiction to Lucky Charms marshmallows makes life rough; whenever I see a box of LC I have to run for the hills or otherwise buy 20 boxes and fish out the marshmallows. But thanks to Frank and this ingenious blend, I can get my fix at home in a cup. You have saved my life, 52 teas ;)
(good for 2 steeps, wonderful hot and iced)
I am really loving this tea! Thanks TeaVivre team! This gives a new meaning to malt, in my books. I was never a fan of malt, even as a child Whoppers disgusted me. But WOW this is such a delicious chocolate malt flavour in a tea. I’ve been steeping 5 pearls in 10-12 oz mugs, with 3 min steeps to start. This can go for at least 3 steeps, probably more. The flavour sticks around throughout the steeps as well and doesn’t get too watered down like some black teas do after the first steep. Very smoothe too. My favourite part about this tea has to be the fact that it’s AMAZING iced with some sweetner and lemon juice.
