This is a nice, pleasant, and mild tisane. Subtle lemon flavor. Perfect for those who do not like Chamomile as it is very relaxing. Although this is loaded with medicinal herbs only the lemon taste comes thru. But the best part this really does make me sleepy…..

Smoky but not too smoky. Subtle sweetness and a great way to start the day.

This one is not as good as Adagio’s Golden Monkey. It is smooth. Sort of cocoa like. But does not have the caramel tones I come to to expect from Golden Monkey. But maybe this from a different region in China?

That’s interesting – I wonder if that is where the golden monkey from my local tea shop that I said tastes like a Panyang Congu comes from too!

I was disappointed in this tea. It was touted by Upton as some fancy high end tea w a price of $20 bucks for 10 g. I was hoping this would have cocoa notes as Upton mentioned instead it is a Lapsang Souchong lite w/mild smoky overtones. Glad that I just bought the 5 dollar sample.

So glad to know this. I have been trying lots of boheas and mild lapsangs lately, and I probably would have started witht he 10g pack if I hadn’t read this. Maybe try the Wuyi Shan Lapsang from Harney. I can send you a sample if you want to pm me. It is lovely, though it is also a more expensive tea. I think it was about $20 for 4 oz?

Had this again with fresh mint, iced, and sugar. This bold ass am holds up so well w/the fresh mint..

I really need to order more of this fantastic tea.

Lori

And you were the one who talked me into ordering this tea…

ashmanra

LOL! Lori, I had to read it three times to figure out that you accidentally separated the word assam! I was puzzling over whether you meant this was so strong that it was a bad A$$ breakfast drink, or what! Thanks for the giggle! Oh, and now I want to try some of this tea! I think it will have a special nickname.

Finally got this one right. Used 1 tbs for 16 ozs. 3mins steep at under boiling at 200f. Tasted a delightful toasty flavor as my first 3 times for this tea was blah. Can’t wait to try this one again…

Perfect chamomile blend. The lively flavors of mint and lemongrass are a perfect foil to the mellow chamomile….

Bio

Just a few months ago the only tea I drank was hot lipton tea at work, an occasional mint tea, and sweet iced tea.. Then my daughter got me some loose leaf teas for Christmas and then, my tea addiction began…..

And what better way to get lots of dessert flavors w/o the calories?

I prefer my tea with a tinge of sugar. Is that cheating? But to me , the combination of sugar and tea is like salt and cooking- both bring out the natural flavors.

My tea drinking has evolved into a set routine: a breakfast blend in the AM, some flavored blacks during the day, late afternoon or evening flavored green/white, herbal (usually spicy, chai inspired) at night.

Not into unflavored greens/whites yet. Just started appreciating unflavored blacks and am thinking that smoky teas may become my favorite…
When I am not drinking tea, I am working as an engineer, reading, watching some of the better TV shows (like Damages and Breaking Bad), practicing my yoga, cooking, gardening, and spoiling my two miniature poodles (Coco and Timmy)…
