As per usual, I’ll keep it short:
I’m getting two very strong notes here, a very floral, heady lilac and a mild spike of cinnamon. The two blend together beautifully and are so prominent that it’s almost hard to believe that this tea is completely unflavoured.

This tea wasn’t what I expected at all. The first steep wasn’t sweet or floral/orchid-y like any of the other oolongs I’ve tried… instead it tasted rich and earthy. It had mineral/stone as well as woody notes, and drinking it was rather like entering an ancient forest and breathing it all in.
This tea wasn’t what I expected at all. It was much, much better =]

When it comes to tea, I’ve always been indifferent to just plain green. Things are different now.
Never before have I found a green tea with such a lovely (and completely un-bitter) flavour. This tea has notes that I’d never imagined green tea could have: it vegetal, buttery, smooth and sweet. AND it’s nourishing and rich, like broth.
So, how good is this tea? So damn.

Well, after reading up on the most popular teas on this website, I gathered that Verdent was the general favourite. So, I decided that enough was enough: I had to get me some of that!
I bought the 5 teas for 5 dollars package from their website to get started, then I waited. It took nine days, but then they finally arrived, each in a beautiful packet which seemed to yell “Me! Pick me first!” But a decision had to be made, so here I am, discussing my first ever Verdent Tea experience.
First Steep: It was fragrant enough, but I didn’t get much flavour out of it. I must confess that though the jasmine scent was nice, I didn’t feel that this tea was anything particularly special
Second Steep: Here is where the magic happened. I used slightly hotter water than advised on their website and let it steep a little longer, and the white tea flavour came out of hiding. It still had some jasmine scent, but after that faded, there was a clear, bright, palate cleansing taste that could only be the white tea. I’ve only ever had one other kind of white tea, but this really blew that out of the water. And after that died down there was… cinnamon? Though it caught me off guard, the delicate touch of spiciness that finished the sip was actually delightful.
So yes, this tea is worth the hype. Go get some =]

The only matcha I’ve ever tried, and it’s wonderful! The lovely, velvety texture and strong flavour aside, it never fails to lift my spirits and give me a boost of energy

If brewed correctly, this is a wonderful light, fruity tea that reminds me of going on picnics in the summer. It’s a beautiful pink colour, and taste differs depending on how much of each tea you add.
Personally, I like a little more white youthberry than orange blossom, which can be too strong and orange peel-y for me.

I love this tea so much! You can brew it over and over again, and it really does have a lovely vegetal yet light and sweet taste. And a little goes a long way – a tiny scoop of the tea expands into large, flavourful leaves during brewing. It’s my staple tea.

Dry Sniff: Mmmmmm berries! It smells sweet and fresh, with the strongest scent being strawberries
After Brewing: It smells WONDERFUL. Honestly. It’s earthy, sweet and berry-ful but more blackberries than strawberries now. It’s a reddish brown colour
Taste: pretty much how it smells. Earthy with blackberries. Very flavourful, and delicious when warm.
