Powdered Green Tea (Matcha) from Silk Road Teas
34

Having now tried a few more matchas i realize that this one isn’t very good. Really good matcha is crazy expensive so this is still a good value, but there definitely is a difference between the high quality Japanese matchas and this. This would be fine for cooking, but save the fancy stuff for drinking.

Lotus Heart (Lian Xin Cha) from Silk Road Teas
44

Ended up throwing a bunch of this tea away. It was just getting old. It is flavorful….just not the flavors i want in a green tea.

Green Monkey King (Tai Ping Hou Kui) from Silk Road Teas
34

I tried this a few more times and was never able to get a good cup of tea out of it. Guess i just couldn’t crack the code. I ended up giving it away. Maybe someone else will like it more than i did. Again, beautiful leaves….boring tea.

Kukicha from shizuokatea.com
84

Pretty good stuff for a great price. Interesting and drinkable. Don’t be afraid to try it.

Rooibos from Adagio Teas
57

My first Rooibos. Heavy aroma of cheap cigars. Not horribly unpleasant, but i certainly didn’t want to keep drinking it.

Gyokuro Hoshino from shizuokatea.com
67

Nice Gyokuro for a reasonable price. Vibrant green color, clean flavor and easy drinking. I’m sure i’ll be buying more.

Gyokuro from Adagio Teas
84

Nice tea, but too expensive. This tea seemed a little on the broken and dusty side. I guess it could have been beat up during shipping, but i would guess it’s more a sign of the quality of the tea, or lack thereof. This is definitely the best tea i’ve had from Adagio….but that’s not saying very much. I’ve yet to be truly impressed by any of their offerings.

I’d say a tea that’s at least as good as this one for less money is the Gyokuro Hoshino from Shizuokatea.com.

Lotus Heart (Lian Xin Cha) from Silk Road Teas
44

Very interesting round, rustic flavor with a lingering sweet finish. It’s good…but not what i’m looking for in a great green tea. I only get about halfway through the cup before i want something else…something fresh and crisp tasting. Although, I suspect many people will love this for its uniqueness…i do not.

Green Monkey King (Tai Ping Hou Kui) from Silk Road Teas
34

Gigantic, beautiful, broad, flat leaves that seem to produce a rather bland cup of tea. Every time i drink it i find myself wishing i was drinking something else. Forgettable tea with a friggin’ sweet name.

Ryokucha from Samovar
89

Very strong toasty flavor….almost overpowering, but not quite. There’s still some nice tea cutting through that gives it a good balance. Very substantial feel and flavor. Nice for a change of pace.

Organic Fresh Green Yerba Mate Loose from Mate Factor
89

Really nice fresh, green flavor. Very green tea-like. And supposedly they use a smoke free drying process so you wont be getting any unhealthy carcinogens polluting your mate and affecting the taste.

Maiden's Ecstasy from Samovar
90

Really nice tea. I haven’t had many Pu-erhs, but this is easily the best. Not too earthy or strong. Interesting and delicious.

Drum Mountain Clouds & Mist (Gua Shan Yun Wu) from Silk Road Teas
89

Possibly the best tea i’ve ever had. Has a subtle hint of cinnamon or some other delicious spice. Could drink every day, all day, forever.

Powdered Green Tea (Matcha) from Silk Road Teas
34

I haven’t tried many Matchas, but this one is inexpensive and completely drinkable. Nothing complex, but nothing offensive.

Mao Feng from Silk Road Teas
88

Very interesting smokey/woody flavor balanced well with a sweet finish. Leaves are extremely aromatic after steeping. Great value.

Yellow Mountain Wild Tea (Huang Shan Mao Feng) from Silk Road Teas
18

Not a fan. Had a sort of plastic taste. Not even worth giving another chance.

Organic Buddhist Tea (Fo Cha) from Silk Road Teas
87

Good everyday drinking tea. Light and a good balance of sweet and substance.

Green Snail Spring (Bi Luo Chun) Competition Grade from Silk Road Teas
88

Fresh and Nutty. Delicate and easy to over-brew. Use cooler water temp and shorter steeping time.

Heavenly Blue Summit (Tian Mu Qing Ding) from Silk Road Teas
90

Great tea. Soft blue color to the leaves. Could drink every day.
