7 Tasting Notes

Assam Melody from Adagio Teas

big, strong, and slightly malty; this tea is satisfying but nothing excellent. there is a sort of raisiny tone to it, definitely an astringency, and a sort of earthiness. upon sniffing the dry leaves i’m reminded of fallen leaves, but this does not carry over to the brewed product. I drink it with plenty of milk and sugar

blah and one dimensional; definately no “pepper notes”. I can find nothing in my cup to justify it being among the highest priced of the adagios

Ceylon Sonata from Adagio Teas

disappointing. I found this tea to be very bland and lacking in character. I believe the flavor is similar to that of those little bags of brown dust that can be found on the shelves of any supermarket

Golden Monkey from Adagio Teas

thought it was excellent on first taste; second taste i’n not so sure. i’ll have to see about the third time

absolutely awful. this tea smelled like dirt and fish when dry; when brewed the smell was lessened but still there. I am not afraid of smoky and earthy flavors, as I enjoy lapsang souchong and scotch whisky, but I just could not enjoy this tea
