I plan on doing as mj did and drink the darjeelings in chronological order. First up – first flush. This tea was greener than I thought it would be. Smallish green and brown leaves. They really bloom up when they steep. The tea ends up being a deep yellow color. It’s a little vegetal and bitter. Reminds me of a mild green tea.

That’s how I did the darjeelings as well. I had a variety of first flush and second flush, but only a few of the third flush as I was kind of burned out by that point. It was definitely a fun way to do it.

I received a package from Marzipan the same day as the Butiki TTB2. I have quite a bit of tea I want to try from that but this tea cut in front of the line. It did not dissapoint. I gave it a whif while it was steeping and it smelled of fresh raspberries. It tasted just like raspberries and a little of white tea. I might try steeping it a little longer next time to help the white tea shine through. I don’t get a lot of pastry flavor but I bet if I add sugar it would taste very much like a sugary treat.

This tea smelled like very light cucumber water. And that’s exactly what it tasted like – in the best way. It’s a very delicate tea but it tastes fresh and bright.

My first from the Butiki TTB2. I’ve never had a purple tea before and it’s definitely something different. It tasted like a mix of green and black teas. It gets vegetal from green and bitter from black. If I didn’t have so many other teas to try I would definitely try this with different temperatures and times.

I finally finished tasting and reviewing the red leaf matcha samples. Now I’m heavily caffeinated! Hopefully this gets me through cleaning my place today :)

I love a good lavender earl grey. I grabbed this one out of my earl grey stash today and although I love lavender this might have over done it a bit for me. It’s very heavy on the lavender. So much that it has a bit of a lavender bathroom smell to it. I can taste the earl grey in the after taste but otherwise it’s overtaken.

I’ve had this in a cupboard (ok it’s really a giant overfilled drawer) for a while and I should’ve made it sooner! I thought it would have too much orange/citrus flavors but it doesn’t. I used the pitcher pack to make a nice big pitcher of tea and it’s really tasty. It has hints of pineapple and orange and just the right amount of tea bitterness.

I’m home sick today which means I get to drink all the tea! Friday sipdown anyone?
I received this as a sample in my tea box. I decided to cancel my subscription because I have too many teas to drink and TTBs headed my way! I really enjoyed this tea. It has a subtle amount of bergamot and the vanilla adds a nice creamy, smooth flavor to it.

Sorry for being MIA lately. I was off traveling around and getting married! And bonus I bought some new Stash tea while I was out in Portland so I can’t wait to try those :)

I swear I already reviewed this tea.. but I can’t find it. Anyways, I still enjoy it. I think oolongs are becoming my new favorite type of tea (over black). Nice and roasty with a light flavor to it. Yummm.

Thank you!!

I’m a researcher in St. Louis and tea gets me through the day at work. I love trying any kind of tea and have far too much tea to drink. I’m currently obsessed with Earl Greys, Lavender everything, lemon and ginger mixes.

I would love to swap! I interested in trying more oolongs and matcha teas. I don’t like very sugary/fruity teas.
