Hey Amber, Tipu’s Chai here. I’m not sure what sample you received as we stopped calling it “Microground Instant” last year when we changed the formula. We don’t call it “instant” any more for just that reason – expectations! Chai is made with lots of spices and we didn’t want to use extracts and filler to create a truly “instant” chai. So there will be spices in your cup and we believe that is a sign of REAL chai. It also creates the full bodied chai kick that so many of our fans love. It isn’t for everyone, especially if you don’t want any spice sediment left in the cup (makes the last sip unfriendly). But we think it makes a lovely flavor and allows the health benefits of the spices to really come through.
