6 Tasting Notes

Brown Rice Tea (Genmaicha) from Remedy Teas
75

A lovely genmaicha. Remedy Teas rarely disappoints. Clean and crisp to the taste, just like genmaicha should be. Resteepable again and again.

Jasmine #5 from Adagio Teas
75

I love this jasmine! I drink it anytime — day or night. Also excellent for cooking jasmine rice in your home rice cooker; simply steep your tea and add to your cooker as you would water with your rice. Don’t over-steep this tea, however. It gets bitter very easily.

Berryblossom White from Tazo
75

Bagged teas are not preferred, but if I’m on the go and need a fix and the only place I can get my tea is a Starbucks, this is what I choose. Floral notes with blueberry gives a fragrant and tasty tea, but as to be expected, the flavor is lacking compared to loose-leaf.

Darjeeling #22 from Adagio Teas
75

I don’t drink black teas at all, but I wanted to at least give a darjeeling a shot. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a very lovely black that doesn’t prove to be very overpowering for my green-and-white-preferred tongue. It’s over-caffeinated for someone of my tolerance — I was shaking after a couple cups! Great with milk and honey.

White Blueberry from Adagio Teas
75

I absolutely love this tea. I first sampled a white blueberry at Seattle’s Queen Mary Tea Room and fell instantly in love. Unfortunately, they no longer carry it as they claimed their supplier went down in quality. Adagio’s has continued to be consistent, at least so far as I can tell. An excellent tea where the blueberries are well-balanced with the white tea. Could stand to have a few more blueberries in there, though.

Genmai Cha from Adagio Teas
75

Genmaicha is my favorite green tea. I love the strength of this tea, and the smoothness. The fragrance has always reminded me of the ocean for some inexplicable reason. It’s a very clean tea that I drink when I want to feel cleansed.
