drank Apple Cider by DAVIDsTEA

It doesn’t really taste like apple cider, but I think I like it. A sweet, creamy, very mild apple taste. It smells a bit little some sort of apple pastry (strudel maybe?) but that doesn’t really carry through to the taste unfortunately. The flavour almost reminds me of Apple Custard (wish they would bring that one back!) but weaker and chamomile-less.

I steeped it for probably 15+ minutes, with a full perfect spoonful of tea in a Nordic mug (16 oz), with freshly boiled water. So don’t think I can make it much stronger than this without using up a whole lot of tea!

Edit: hmm, I tried my bf’s cup and it has a bit more of a bite. Maybe he got more blackberry leaves or something?

Flavors: Apple, Creamy, Vanilla

Preparation
Boiling 8 min or more 2 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

I’m getting mostly ginger taste from this one (reminiscent of DT’s Ginger Beer), with a faint hint of peach and a slight herbal note – I’m guessing that would be the moringa and maybe blackberry leaves. Can’t really detect any lemongrass but I’m ok with that. I wish the peach were stronger for a more balanced flavour, but it’s still nice. I added a bit of honey and it’s the perfect thing to soothe my cold. Tastes like I’m drinking healthiness in a cup!

My boyfriend’s review: “Hot peach is weird. It tastes slimy.”

Dry: really strong almond smell. Reminds me of amaretto or just straight up almond extract.

Brewed: almond taste is a bit more muted, I hoped it would be stronger but it balances nicely with the green tea. Taste isn’t very sweet – I added half a teaspoon of honey which improved things. It’s a bit reminiscent of a macaron or marzipan.

drank Raspberry Mojito by DAVIDsTEA

I bought this today and just made an iced cup (steeped hot for probably 20 minutes before adding ice). Added a little honey and lime juice to taste and it’s so good! I only wish I had rum.

Very fruity/berry tasting with a hint of lime and mint. Thankfully I’m not really tasting the other random ingredients (raisins, carrots??). It’s a little tart – probably just from steeping so long – but not in a bad way.

Flavors: Berry, Lime, Mint, Raspberry, Sweet, Tart

Iced 8 min or more 2 tsp 0 OZ / 0 ML

drank Vanilla Rose by DAVIDsTEA

I like this better than I expected – I don’t usually like florals too much but I got 10g to try. It’s very mild but tastes nice (vanilla and fruity with just a hint of rose… I may have tossed out a rosebud or two). I might have let the water cool too much because I’m afraid of burning my white teas! Will make hotter and stronger next time.

Flavors: Fruity, Raisins, Rose, Vanilla

When I heard there was a coconut mango tea I was super excited. But I’m drinking it now and it’s coconutty and very lemongrass-y, but not very sweet or fruity at all. Perhaps it had just settled out and I got a bad mix? Anyway, glad I only got 10 grams… I’ll drink the rest (or pawn it off on the boyfriend) but won’t be repurchasing.

Flavors: Coconut, Lemongrass

Tried it again, tastes less like dirt… or maybe I’m just getting used to it. Added a little honey as well.

I had high hopes for this as I enjoy ginger and rooibos… but this tastes kind of like dirt to me, with a ginger aftertaste. I’ll try making it stronger and steeping a shorter time next time and see if that helps (it tasted too weak at first so I steeped forever).

Flavors: Dirt, Earth, Ginger

8 min or more 1 tsp 14 OZ / 414 ML

drank Honey Lemon by Tim Hortons

This tea is sweet and soothing. When I worked at Tim’s I would have a cup whenever I was sick (aka most of the winter) and it made my throat feel nice. Or at least less awful. Maybe not the best lemon tea ever but it’s not bad!

drank Peppermint by Tim Hortons

I used to work at Tim’s. I wasn’t a fan of some of their teas but I actually really liked this one. With a sugar or two it tastes like mint candy. Probably the best bagged mint tea I’ve had… I’m sure there’s a fancy loose leaf one out there that’s better though!
