85 Tasting Notes
Color is slightly yellowish white with my milk and sugar added.
Smell is not as strong as a few I’ve tried lately. Its pleasant and its mild.
The flavor is very nice. I think I really like it, but it feels familiar as well. And I’m not sure what it reminds me of. Is it very close to Movie Night? Hmmm. Maybe.
No aftertaste, and it feels like there isn’t any puzzle pieces missing either.
I did make sure to add 6 grams of leaf for 2 cups of water.
I’m so impressed by this one, preliminary findings make me think I’d buy a tin for this one.
Color is a very pale opal color when added to my milk and sugar.
Smell is like a caramelly apple pie? Artificial apple smell, maybe. Not sure.
Might need more than 6 grams per 2 cups. It wasn’t full bodied enough. And now that I think about it, it did say 2 tsps per cup versus 1.5. Will take that into account for next time. I am enjoying it enough to WANT it another time.
Feel better about it than DAVIDs Tea Coffee Cake by far.
If I add the whole tablespoon of sugar to my big cup, the flavors come out even more. By the way, how I ever came to have 1 whole TABLESPOON in my flavored teas is beyond me.
hangs head in shame
So I bought 16 grams of this and I’m trying it out now. I’m giving it the whole milk and sugar treatment as well.
I weighed 5 grams of it out on my scale,
cough… nerd, and have my 1.5 teaspoons of sugar and 1/4 cup of 2% milk already in the bottom of my cup.
Color – the perfect shade of milky beige.
Smell is strong and sharp. If you don’t get aromatic whif of this upon brewing, I think something is wrong.
Taste – you know those really dark fruit cakes you see at Christmas, with the black sheen. I mistakenly confused the flavor for this as well as the name until now, but I’ve been getting that fruit cake vibe all along.
I don’t like fruit cake, but this isn’t bad. If I was running low on daytime teas, I’d use this up. It still feels underwhelming. This tea is strange because it is just so underwhelming in the mouth. It feels like all the puzzle pieces were ready but a few got lost, and something feels missing.
I would NOT rebuy, not because it tastes bad, because its just not worth the special-tea price. I give it 65 because its very drinkable, just not worthy.
I was coming on here to say I didn’t like this, but with a little more milk, its okay.
Then I see it has valerian in it, and its only 811P. Oh, oh.
Then I get excited because why not help out the sleep fairy.
Ack, but then I don’t get to read if this works too well. And I’m already feeling sick and incidentally a little slumbersome.
Its slightly reminiscent of Sleepytime to me, although it is more yummy.
I would consider buying it for sleep reasons though, cause hey… thats a good reason.
Although for taste, its slightly medicinal.
