1614 Tasting Notes
This is from Traveling Tea Box B. I finally got around to trying it out. I love oxidized oolongs. Actually, I love all kinds of oolong teas. This one was difficult to brew just because so many things were going on in my house. In the end, I brewed it for a minute and it was delicious! I wish I could have made several steepings out of this, but once Western style was enough. I love the dark cocoa/caramel tones in this tea mixed with sweetness. The brew was a honey gold color. Good tea overall! :)
I was having a headache all day. I am guessing it is a mixture of lack of sleep, having all my energy and calories seeping out, etc… I decided to make this tea. I used up the last bag sent by adagio breeze . This helped a lot! I think I forgot to have my morning tea today. My tea habits have gone out the door. My electric kettle has rust; I do not have a tea kettle; and my pots are teflon coated which alters the flavor of the water, so I have been microwaving my water. So, I haven’t been able to enjoy my oolongs, greens, or puerhs (I am pretty picky about how they are prepared).
Anyway, I didn’t have any milk, but the sugar was good enough with it. I put in some condensed milk, which changed the flavor entirely. Good, robust morning tea overall; though this isn’t something I would purchase.
Thank you adagio breeze for this! Not really sure how to rate this one. This is a basic bagged CTC black tea. It is bitter, so it needs milk and sugar. It brews a dark brown color. There is no one definite black tea base that I can detect. It has a slight malty taste to it. I am still limiting myself to one cup of tea per day as I am breastfeeding. This one is convenient just because it is bagged.
