I made this cold. I thought it would taste better that way, but it tastes a tad better than hot, but not that much. From the tin, it smells like caramel. When i cold brewed it, It tasted like very sweet, minty, creamy caramel. I didn’t enjoy the creamy caramel part of it so much. It makes me want to gag just a little. I do love how there were bits of candy cane in there though.
I can’t wait until I’m through with this. I hate to have tea go to waste…

Boy am I really milking this one! I have enough for one more serving, and I’m going to be resteeping the leaves I’m sipping up now. I have completely and utterly fallen in love with you, Peppermint Rooibos. I love everything about you! You are so versatile. You love cold and hot. You are still great room temperature. I changed my rating from 92 to 100!
I bought some Peppermint from Adagio in the hopes of recreating this in some way.
This blend, however, has “natural essential oils of bergamot and peppermint” so I’m assuming that enhances the flavors. Anyhow, I have this strange idea about trying to add a dash of MILK to this! I’ll try it on my second steep! >_<

I mixed about 1/2 teaspoon of this with 1 teaspoon of Adagio’s Lemon Grass. Soothes my sore throat and leaves a nice cool effect in my throat. Gotta load up on the fluids!
I drink this so often! It soothes my throat, especially on a day like this! I mixed a teaspoon of Lemon Grass with a tiny scoop (half a teaspoon) of Rishi’s Peppermint Rooibos. Excellent combo! Well, lemon grass blends so well with a lot of teas and herbals.
I am enjoying the cool feeling in my throat.
I haven’t felt this sick in ages! I decided to reach for Rooibos Zanzibar Spice this evening. The warm spices… the candied ginger… it all sooths my throat. I’m going to drink some more of this!

I have more to add, but initial impressions:
Smells like cardboard but tastes a lot better than that! By far there are more rooibos than black tea leaves in there. I think thats why I smell the cardboard. Plain rooibos smells like cardboard to me. I added a cube of brown sugar and enjoyed this! Not something I’d reach for often though.
This is my go-to black tea. Its CTC but somehow delicious. It’s always there for me. Reliable… and I have a TON of it too. It never grows bitter even if I accidentally let it steep for longer than I want to.
This time, I added some cinnamon and sugar. Yum!
This smells better than it tastes. When I take a whiff, it smells like delicious caramel chocolate goodness. In my mouth, it’s not that great. It’s sweet, which I love, but it has some sort of chemical aftertaste I can’t seem to get past. Next time I’ll try it with milk and sugar.

Finished this up today! Farewell Houjicha! Sad but a part of me is happy I’m finished with another can of tea! It’s incredible how much tea I’ve accumulated over the past few months-years. This one was a nice roasted green. Very warm nutty and toasty in flavor, and it lent itself to blending very well. I often liked mixing this with lemongrass, like today! I steeped this 3 times in a big mug. I might venture to purchase this again one day, but not anytime soon.

I rarely reach for this since it always depends on my mood. It’s raining out, so I reached for this. It smells very earthy and dark, and I love how each mini cake is wrapped up. Very cute >_<! Generally for this tea, I like to infuse in short amounts of time. I usually don’t like the first infusion… it is too bitter and strong, though I imagine it might taste ok if I added milk and sugar. (note to self: try that next time!) The second infusion is my favorite.
On second infusion, it smells earthy and musty but a little sweet too. I love the sweet-like taste I get. The aftertaste is good as well. :)
