16 Tasting Notes

Gunpowder from Margaret's Fine Imports
100

tastes exactly like drinking tea after smoking, ending with a full grassy green flavor – quite a taste sensation

Formosa Bai Hao (Oolong #40) from Adagio Teas
100

Deliciously smooth, yet complex oolong

Green Pekoe from Adagio Teas
84

A great simple green tea. Mellow flavor.

Rooibos Jasmine from Adagio Teas
41

Jasmine tea is good, and roobios tea is good. Together they make an interesting combination, but each entity loses that which makes it special.

Anji Duet from Adagio Teas
100

Wow. A a perfectly balanced green tea.

Pi Lo Chun from Adagio Teas
82

A light green taste; not too grassy. Pleasant full-bodied after-taste.

Kukicha from Adagio Teas
35

Good until the aftertaste which tastes like the dried leaves smell – a bit sickeningly sweet.

Jasmine #5 from Adagio Teas
80

Jasmine overpowers the oolong a bit, but the floral flavor is very nice…

Green Tea Super Antioxidant from Yogi Tea
90

Flavor spreads out in mouth and activates full pallet experience. Green tea wrapped up herbal taste.

Pure Green Decaf from Yogi Tea
47

A slightly above average bagged green tea flavor. Nothing extraordinary. The sayings on the tea bag tags are kind of fun.

Ti Kuan Yin from Adagio Teas
98

Rich, yet delicate. Thick wood/grass flavor ending with a light aftertaste which reminds me of the smell of trees after it rains.

Pure Green Tea from Twinings
67

Mild grassy taste – no intense flavors. Very clean tasting, yet unexciting.

Rooibos from Adagio Teas
97

Starts off with a light woody taste. Slightly sweet/smokey aftertaste. Very unique woody smell.

Sleepytime Extra Wellness Tea from Celestial Seasonings
88

This box cracks me up – “plus just a little ‘extra’”

Anyway, this tea is quite delicious, and I do notice a prominent calming/mind-altering effect.

I am considering growing valerian (the “extra” ingredient). Apparently one can harvest the root and brew it. Has anybody tried this?

Artichoke Green from Adagio Teas
96

Mouthwatering grassy-sweet flavor. Warm, melting aftertaste. Absolutely delicious, very unique flavor.

White Symphony from Adagio Teas
57

Starts with a light grassy taste, opens into a full honey sweetness, ends on a floral note. All very subtle flavors.
