1083 Tasting Notes
This sample came to me via Marzipan and was a free sample from a group order a bunch of Steepster folks went in on. The dry leaf is huge and twisty and gorgeous. The steeped liquor smells amazing- roasty and tangy. I get mostly mineral and lightly roasted flavors with a very faint hint of tart cherry. The aftertaste is long and lingering. I would prefer more fruity sweetness and more floral flavors, but that is probably just a personal preference. I’m normally not a huge fan of this style of oolong. Thanks Nannuoshan and fellow Steepsterites for the sample :)
Yesterday (and lots of days lately) have been hellish at work and left me with no time to write tasting notes! Anyway, this is another sample I got from ChaiVeck. It was nice and light and clean tasting. A little woody but not in a bad way. Not a type of tea I’ve explored much yet so that is always fun! It’s so different! A little like shou but not really…
WOW YUM! Also funny that both teas I drank today had heavy raisin/prune notes. This one is flavored that way, obviously, but tastes very natural. Plump and juicy prunes nomnomnom. It also really did sort of taste like vodka. And although I don’t get a chocolate note, it is naturally sweet tasting. VERY good. Dammann Freres FTW.
