drank Pu-erh Vanilla Mint by Zen Tea

Vanilla mint puerh sounded great! But there’s CINNAMON in here too? Hmm…

I’m drinking it, but it is a bit weird to me! O_o

love this one

Cinnamon? That seems out of place in a vanilla mint tea (but I suppose it could work!)

Very tasty bold malty black tea. It gets even sweeter and more complex as it cools.

I’m really enjoying this as an evening treat. Guess I should check and see if it is sold out yet…

Butiki Teas

Not sold out yet! :)

I’ve been wavering on whether or not to buy just some more birthday cake, but it’s now all gone. Guess I’m not getting more.

Sweet, thanks for the tip! Maybe I’ll get to place ONE more order! Sorry bout the birthday cake Cheri :/

This is my kind of sheng. Nice bold punchy flavor. Nice balance between sweet and bitter. Faint hint of floral. I like a little astringency sometimes. Good stuff.

This is one I like very much!

I saw they still have some and the price isn’t too bad! Tempting…

What’s holding you back? :)

Lack of proper puerh cake storage and lack of money! I still have a lot of Christmas presents to buy in the next week and a half…

This sample came to me via Marzipan and was a free sample from a group order a bunch of Steepster folks went in on. The dry leaf is huge and twisty and gorgeous. The steeped liquor smells amazing- roasty and tangy. I get mostly mineral and lightly roasted flavors with a very faint hint of tart cherry. The aftertaste is long and lingering. I would prefer more fruity sweetness and more floral flavors, but that is probably just a personal preference. I’m normally not a huge fan of this style of oolong. Thanks Nannuoshan and fellow Steepsterites for the sample :)

Yesterday (and lots of days lately) have been hellish at work and left me with no time to write tasting notes! Anyway, this is another sample I got from ChaiVeck. It was nice and light and clean tasting. A little woody but not in a bad way. Not a type of tea I’ve explored much yet so that is always fun! It’s so different! A little like shou but not really…

Thank you for the sample ChaiVeck!

This is a nice easy drinking shou! Clean and basic “shou flavor”, but with a nice pleasant sweetness. A little bit of cocoa notes make me think of Special Dark which is always good.

This tea isn’t bad. Mild cinnamon and vague spiced fruits. I’m not getting any “pastry”.

Really nothing wrong with it, just not as thrilling to me personally as some of the other Dammann Freres teas I’ve tried lately :)

Clearly Prague is a much cooler city than London. :P

Very delicious black tea! Thank you for the sample Marzipan!

Malty, bold, naturally sweet. Everything a good golden tips should be :D

WOW YUM! Also funny that both teas I drank today had heavy raisin/prune notes. This one is flavored that way, obviously, but tastes very natural. Plump and juicy prunes nomnomnom. It also really did sort of taste like vodka. And although I don’t get a chocolate note, it is naturally sweet tasting. VERY good. Dammann Freres FTW.

Graphic artist, printmaker, lover of tea.

I love pretty much every type of tea camellia sinensis can produce. I like herbal teas sometimes but I can’t stand rooibos. I’m recently becoming a puerh addict.

Butiki, Verdant, Mandala, TeaVivre, Yunnan Sourcing, TeaUrchin, White2Tea and Den’s are my favorite online retailers so far.
