940 Tasting Notes

I am feeling so incredibly lucky today to be one of the first to taste and review this SUPER FRESH amazing tea! Thanks so much Angel and TeaVivre!

I’ve only had a couple fresh spring teas in the past, but they are always some of my absolute favorites. I’ve tried a shincha and a fresh spring twist green tea. This one is no exception…As soon as I opened the packet I knew I was in for a treat. The dry leaf smell…SO INTOXICATING! Check out the dry leaf http://twitpic.com/e1e8le is that not gorgeous? Stubby baby BRIGHT green dragon well.

Anyway, steeped up this tastes amazingly sweet and crisp and fresh and so very alive. I really need to seek out more fresh spring teas in the future since they excite me so very much. Very glad and honored to have tasted this one!

Darn, it’s sold out :<

Oh no! I’m definitely first in line to buy some next year!

That is the longest tea name ever. I want it on a t-shirt. Wow.

So glad you like this tea, and thanks for the photo. I like the words"Stubby baby BRIGHT", it’s so lovely:)

I love that picture!! It’s SO green!
It’s already sold out? Wow!

It is back for sale today Terri…too bad I can’t afford it! LOL! I am just lucky I got to try it at all :) No filter on that picture I took BTW.

Another awesome surprise swap sample from Jennkay

Della Terra teas are pretty hit or miss with me…this one is shockingly good! Even though I oversteeped it slightly, it has a nice creamy white chocolate flavor, even without sugar. I don’t mind the slightly drying astringency of the oversteeped white tea! Tasty!

YUM! This is still so good! Thanks so much for sending me some Jennkay! :D

I drank this earlier and enjoyed it very much. I didn’t take notes while I drank it though so I’ll have to do that next time. Thanks boychik!

Another exciting tea from my swap with Jennkay! Thanks!

I’ve had houjicha before, but it was cheapo bagged stuff. This is much smoother! I love the roasty flavor and low caffeine. This kind of thing is really nice to have around. Very toasty and satisfying :)

Another new to me puerh from boychik :D

These little mini cubes are so cute…they remind me of chocolate squares. This one brews up a smooth and earthy shu. Definitely drinkable but not my absolute favorite shu either. Glad I got to try it :)

Oh, it does look just like chocolate! Never seen that before…

Thanks so much Jennkay for a sample of this tea!

I love Japanese greens but I’m not sure I’ve ever tried a bancha! The dry leaves look very fresh and HUGE. Brewed up it is extremely green and vegetal tasting and smelling, like spinach or maybe kale, but somewhat sweet and almost a little spicy. It is a very interesting change up from the types of greens I’m used to! Very fun to try :)

OMG this is even better than I remember it being. Once again, kudos Stacy and JustJames…major WIN on this blend! So perfect. I can’t think of a single thing I would change about it. I absolutely adore it hot, but I am quite excited to try it iced this summer. Coconut banana tropical iced tea? Heck yes!

Oooh, haven’t thought about icing it but I bet it would be fantastic!

That sounds amazing!

ohhhh, I’m really not the best person to be writing the first note on this tea, haha. Welp, here goes nothing!

First off, thanks very much to boychik for the sample! I’m a moron and forgot to do a rinse before my first steep, which I did in my semi-western style. 1 min steep. I have never had a shu this sweet! I am assuming it is a shu?? I’m not even sure, it tastes so different…no dark woodsy musty notes, but definitely a fermented taste here. There is a faint taste of bamboo shoots…perhaps from the basket?

I’m not sure if this is something I’d want to drink regularly, but I’m enjoying it this morning and just appreciating how DIFFERENT it is. I will be interested to see if the next steeps change much flavor-wise.

It is different. I couldn’t do more than one steep and I rinsed it.

Hei cha is deeply fermented most of the time. It is basically a “loose” puerh I think.

Graphic artist, printmaker, lover of tea.

I love pretty much every type of tea camellia sinensis can produce. I like herbal teas sometimes but I can’t stand rooibos.

Butiki, Verdant, Mandala, TeaVivre and Den’s are my favorite online retailers so far.
