I FIXED IT! I combined 2/3 these pearls, with 1/3 straight jasmine pearls. PERFECT! Just enough peach and just enough jasmine. Now that I know how delicious these can be I would definitely consider reordering :)

Fuzzy_Peachkin

I love these pearls!

TheTeaFairy

Great idea Stephanie! I get the peach also, but jasmine is totally absent in this tea for me…will try with teavivre jasmine green, ran out of the pearls.

Kamyria

Uh oh… jasmine and peach… that’s a lovely marriage I never thought of before… I think I can already taste it in my mind and I like it!

Brendan

Sounds like a good combo. Might have to get some!

TeaVivre

What a great idea! In fact, we never try to combine the two teas, and i can’t wait to try it now.

boychik

i do the same. not enough jasmine for me either

Terri HarpLady

I love experiments! These little peach pearls are lovely too.

Sample sipdown! I didn’t quite have a full serving left, so I mixed this in with some ovaltine for breakfast. VERY GOOD COMBO!

Dexter

Pumpkin Pie Matcha and Ovaltine? LOL I thought I was the queen of odd combinations….

Stephanie

Hahaha! I also really love plain white matcha mixed with milk and ice and AVOCADO in the blender with a little sugar or honey!

Dexter

Somehow the white matcha, avocado, milk, honey doesn’t sound to weird to me. I LOVE avocado, and tossing some into a smoothie makes perfect sense – to the point that I will try it. Thanks for the idea. :))
I’m going to pass on the pumpkin pie ovaltine.

Stephanie

Avocado shakes in general are highly recommended :)

Hmm, I dunno about this tea. It is smokey, tart, and a little bitter. I’m not getting much sweetness from it so it seems unbalanced somehow. I can appreciate its uniqueness, but it is definitely not something I would purchase.

TheTeaFairy

Stephanie, who do you like Steepster Select so far, is it worth it? (Not that it matters cause I’m in Canada, but I curious to know!)

TheTeaFairy

I meant «how» do you like, oops.

Stephanie

Well, I was offered a free box, so it was DEFINITELY worth it for me. I’ve only tried this one and one other offering so far. The other tea was a Yunnan black and I preferred it to this one. I think the Select Box would be nice for someone a little earlier in their tea journey than I am, who are still looking to try a whole bunch of different things. (Everything in the box was a straight unflavored tea, BTW) I’m to the point where I kind of know what I like and random boxes where I’m unlikely to actually enjoy all the offerings are losing their appeal to me.

TheTeaFairy

Then we have a similar take on this thing, I too know pretty much where I stand, and although I’m still enjoying trying new stuff, I much prefer choosing on my own. But I totally understand the concept and why it is so popular, this is just my opinion :-)

Reviewing my first tea from Steepster Select! This is an intense, full bodied Yunnan, for sure. Although it is aggressive with its pipe tobacco earthiness, it has enough sweetness to balance it out nicely. Very enjoyable! I’m honored I was given the opportunity to try the box from December for free!

BrewTEAlly Sweet

You got last months box?!

Stephanie

Yep, for free! :-O

BrewTEAlly Sweet

Shoot! How? I put some of mine in ur box to send ur way after payday

Stephanie

I got an email from steepster offering my first box for free. I assume they had too many made up and didn’t want them to go to waste?

My husband has been requesting tea syrup for tea sodas a lot lately, and this is the most recent one we’ve tried. I can’t really detect the tea itself in this soda, but it tastes like delicious strawberry butter toffee cream soda! Can’t complain!! Real tasty :)

Starfevre

How do you make your tea syrup?

Stephanie

One cup of triple strong brewed tea simmered with 3/4 cup sugar and chilled :)

I’m honored to get to try such a rare and unusual tea. In 1991 I was 10 years old, heh. It’s funny to think that this tea has been around that long!

This tastes unlike any other oolong I’ve experienced. It is creamy, dark/toasty and almost nutty, yet still sweet! Luckily though this is delicious, I doubt it is something I’ll be craving and wishing I could afford to buy again real soon. (Unlike the other expensive Butiki I splurged on, Japanese Puerh! SUPER TASTY! WILL BE RESTOCKING!)

The creaminess is so distinctive and hard to describe! I really can’t think of anything to compare it to…but it has a very well rounded flavor overall.

mrmopar

Youngster!

Stephanie

32 doesn’t feel super young, but I guess it doesn’t feel old, either :)

mrmopar

Agreed on both points! I am in the over the hill gang.. well alsmost. I always say you are as young as you think you are, so I am only about 25.

Roswell Strange

I wasn’t even born in 1991…

Stephanie

Well you are just a baby then, hehe ;)

TheTeaFairy

This 1991 and 2003 reserve four season =my favourite aged oolong!

BrewTEAlly Sweet

ha ha same here Roswell Strange :D

Almost a sip down….I REALLY wish I could order more of this tea before it is gone. I LOVE me some Dancong and this is a particularly nice one. It is juicy, thick, and floral but still dark and mysterious.

Dexter

I know I have SOME of this, I’m pretty sure I have LOTS of this – at work can’t check for sure – would be more than happy to send you some – lots depending on how much I have. Let me know if you would like some. :))

Stephanie

Aww, that is mighty kind of you!

Perhaps we can swap or something. PM me :)

Dexter

I’ll send you a PM when I get home tonight and let you know exactly how much I have – will works something out…

I was ambivalent about this one hot. But iced? OMG, it’s so good iced…

This is another great tea for the dead of winter. Very warming with the cinnamon and vanilla, and strongly caffeinated from the black tea and puerh to perk me up :)

I will hopefully enjoy re-steeping this one all day at work!

Sad sample sipdown! This was one of my faves from Teavivre so far. It is especially nice in this weather, since it is so malty and rich and comforting. Definitely going on my “re-order some day when my stash can handle more tea” list!

TheTeaFairy

Ahhh, this one is soooo good! I ran out recently and will definitely reorder, love how big those pearls are!

Stephanie

I didn’t realize how much they would expand the first time I tried em. WAY overleafed, lol!

TheTeaFairy

I know, right? They grow these super long tentacles, like giant spider legs, haha!
