1113 Tasting Notes
I haven’t had this tea in forever! It is still VERY good. Yesterday I drank SO MUCH puerh, heh. (I may have been a tiny bit hungover, heh) Back to work today, and back to cold dreary January. Does anyone else get the post-holiday blahs? I need more tea! ;)
I’m working a half day today and this has been my morning tea while I work. Always enjoyable! So creamy and rich and just astringent enough to be nicely balanced. I haven’t had any real Irish Cream in a few years, but now I want some!
Hope everyone had a wonderful 2013 :)
I’ve had this tea several times now. I’ve been trying to write a tasting note, but I’m having a really hard time describing it. It is bright and sweet, and a little bit tangy. I’m definitely not getting “red velvet cupcake” LOL, but it is certainly a very nice sheng, without any funkyness.
Thank you so much CrowKettle for sharing some of this special tea with me! :D
It DOES have a really interesting combination of black tea and white tea characteristics. There is enough going on here to keep me rapt sip after sip! I would purchase some in the future, if my cupboard is ever low enough to allow it, lol.
blacklog from Christmas!
I got to try the Zhen Qu version of this due to a generous gift from CrowKettle (I bought the oolong version, myself.) I think the dry leaf is so cute and curly :D
For some reason this is my favorite traveling tea right now so I steeped up a to-go cup yesterday for the hour drive to my in-law’s house for the holidays. I honestly couldn’t tell you which I prefer, the black or the oolong. They are both wonderful!
Very tasty Christmas Eve latte for breakfast thanks to the generous CrowKettle!
As suspected the pumpkin pie flavor DOES pair very nicely with white matcha. I drank this whisked with warm whole milk and a little bit of honey. Super rich and tasty :)
