1084 Tasting Notes
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I decided to try my new Gaiwan for the first time today and made this tea, also for the first time. I really love the Gaiwan! This tea ain’t half bad either ;)
The first steep was extremely buttery and reminded me of a good sencha. The 2nd steep had more of an oolongish vegetal yet floral vibe. All steeps were super sweet! Gongfu is fun! Getting to taste the tea evolve, and see the leaves unfurl. Good times! Thanks again for everything, Stacy :)
I was all SQUEE! when I saw that a Dancong was part of this month’s classic club box! I was given a little bit of a phoenix dancong (not from Verdant) in a swap once, and it was my favorite dark oolong to date!
This particular Dancong is a little spicier than the one I fell in love with. The sweetness and complexity I love is there though. Floral or fruity at times, yet dark and creamy and roasty. MMMMMM!!! YAY DANCONG!
Backlog from last night!
I got SO MANY teas in the mail yesterday- http://twitpic.com/dmlor5
This is the first one I decided to try. It does indeed taste like rootbeer! I’m really glad it was a honeybush and not a rooibos tea. I hate rooibos. I’m glad to have a few nice caffeine free teas around for evening consumption :)
SWEET COCONUTTY GOODNESS! Oh man oh man, I loves me some coconut, and this tea takes the cake. The banana and assam, too…its just perfect! It tastes like super creamy toasted coconut pudding, with banana toffee crunch. Or maybe a buttery toasted coconut pound cake with banana cream pudding trifle. drool I would totally buy this one, for the record. I think I prefer it to everyone’s beloved caramel vanilla assam!
I am drinking it straight this time, but with the rest of my sample I’m definitely going to try adding cream and sugar. I bet it will be heavenly! Thanks for the sample JustJames and thanks for creating this blend Stacy! :D
