At my first cup, I like the refreshing mint aftertaste and the black tea is solid, only there’s a bubblegum flavour in there somewhere I haven’t quite warmed to. Will try again though. An interesting and unique tea if nothing else.

I’m not normally I chai fan, but this somehow manages to be zesty and smooth at the same time. And it’s good and strong! Put three teaspoons in a pot and you can pour water in it for hours.

Fantastic Tea. I was worried it would be too rich and sweet, but not at all. A great morning or afternoon tea. Not one you could drink all day, but essential for the shelf.

Not a bad flavour, but incredibly incredibly weak … you have to steep for more than five minutes to get any colour (or flavour) in it at all … they really need to strengthen this tea up a bit

Boiling 8 min or more

I agree with this: compared with other Lapsang Souchong I’ve had the smokey flavour was considerably weaker.

I like the idea of this tea … but subtlety can be taken too far. This tea’s barely there … If you weren’t looking at your cup you wouldn’t know when to stop drinking it.

A good solid Assam. But not as complex or flavoursome as Madura Assam (which I think you might only be able to get here in Australia). Nonetheless, a worthwhile tea.

“remember that old Saturday Night Live skit about Pork Soda … well, what was said there applies here … “it’s like drinkin a pig” A good tea if you can’t decide whether you want a cup of tea or a slightly overdone boar on a spit."

That was my old review. Now, I’ve completely come around on this tea. I drink it after a hard day or if I’m not feeling all that great and the smoky flavour puts me beside a campfire in the outback of my youth. True, it does take a little bit of mental gymnastics at first i.e. ’it’s not bacon, it’s bamboo, it’s not bacon, it’s bamboo’ … but once you’ve done it, this tea really pays off. My new favourite.

Absolutely love this tea. It’s exotic with a lot of complex notes (wood smoke, nuts), but really uplifting and hearty.

A really classic, hearty Australian tea that has more than a hint of billy tea about it. Rich and uplifting. One of my favourites.
