In between a Russian Caravan, and some Jasmine Oolong I decided to give my palate a dessert.

I always hesitate for some strange reason to open this up and steep this very fragrant tea. Then, for some reason I relent and voila, c’est tres agreable! It keeps me coming back wanting more! The body, aroma/scent mouth is so full I just love it!

2006 Loose Golden Leaf Imperial Pu-Erh from PuerhShop.com
90

As the title to aptly describes this Pu-Erh, ‘Imperial’ – if I could drink a queen it would be this tea, regal yet-very commoner, the flowery, leather, fruitiness is the crown jewel bouquet of fine wine. If I had no friends…then, this would be my best.

If I can only have a minute taste of heaven this is it! When it comes to Pu Erh. Red-Copper-Golden hue with a sweet earthiness thru and thru with a slight lingering acidity. Very rounded mouth finish. Yes…Yes…Yes…

Milk Oolong from Sawadee Tea House

I have been steeping all day…yah gotta luv when what the seller says is taken as ’gospel’and purchased. I listened to her and WoW! This tea is great! Poured my first cup early this afternoon and I have been pouring three more times with wonderful demonstrations of layers of sweetness and joy – contentment. Yeh, that’s it!

Cloud Forest Rainbow from Sawadee Tea House
93

Long in the mouth with a subtle bouquet reminiscent of a spring garden after a light early morning shower. Suprisingly this white T is slightly astingent with body that is dressed in silk weaving a home for eternity in my heart.

Xandua Manderine from Sawadee Tea House
85

It is not what I think necessarily but, how I feel every moment I consume the liquour so golden red with an equisite velvet, earthy-sweetness of manderin that reminds me to breath in and then out, and then in….

Lapsang Souchang from Sawadee Tea House
83

Somewhat milder than a Russian Caravan with a burst of pine flavour at first tasting…leaving me with a subtle smoky sweetness.

Tarajulie Estate Assam from The Tea Brewery

Have u ever purchased a tea with a thought that oh, I can’t wait to get home and boil some fresh water! Place the scoop of tea into your strainer, pot or cup and allow the leaves to unfold their flavour…pour ever so gently eyeing the hue of many golden colours filling ur cup. Then, I know I do this – I hesitate for a brief moment to absorb the moment then I cannot hold back any longer…there is goes…swish, swirl, swallow. Hey, it tastes like tea! I am brought dwn to earth and realize that although I want to think that I am consuming the nector of the god’s – I am being offered the next best thing…tea.

Golden Pu-erh 5 Years from Hina's Tea
77

I asked my tea seller to surprise me today. She showed me some beautiful teas with wonderfu aroma and body. Then, I was informed to open the jar and take in the smell of the earth. Yes, no doubt, the sublime odour of decomposing, rich sweet soil filled my senses and I wished it was spring again…alas, it is only the beginning of winter…I digress, I love it! And the flavour took a bit of getting used to but I am hook’d.

Chamomile Mint from Bigelow

Enertea from Apollo Tea

I will have to try it cold…I have had only one cup as of yet and I was not totally impressed. I will have to sit dwn and take my time once again and get bacy to yah.

Formosa Oolong from Cargo & James
70

When I was deciding today to try something new I opened the jar thinking that I will not enjoy the experience but I was wrong…as well, my first cup w/o milk or sugar I really enjoyed. No bitter aftertaste, with a smooth, pleasant earthy experience dancing on my tongue.

Luvs it loose but a bag will do!

I have come to see the light…and I owe it all to tea! Here on the east coast of Canada we drink a lot of tea mostly in the bag, but there are a couple of wonderful places that sell loose tea and I have become addicted to drinking, and buying tea…I am so glad that I have located others that have an ‘obsession’ like myself or may I call it a pleasant past-time.
A book, a cup of tea and a cauldron – a invocation for a spirited good time!
