This is the best tea place i have been too in Canada. She is so knowledgeable and the teas are amazing. She travels all over the world to purchase the teas. Not to mention all the tasty goodies available too.(Sweet potato brownies are to die for!) She ships all over as well.

A very neat place. Has a lot of teas and the staff have a lot of knowledge about tea.
Also there is lots of tea ware, and other gifts and unique items that have been brought back from the owners trips for their store.
Halifax does not have a lot of different stores to choose for tea, but Sawadee makes up for that by having enough variety for any tea enthusiast.

Absolutely in love. The owner knows what she’s doing – in so many ways! She taught me, but she wasn’t pushy, she offered advice and recommendations, but only after I made sure she knew I was interested in them. The beau, a friend and I stayed til the store closed to enjoy a tea in the lovely french press style individual serve pots, and we bought lots to take home. The teaware is great, the tea is great and the service is great. Next time someone asks me to go out for coffee, I’ll be guiding them to Sawadee, to learn the loveliness of tea..

The prices are also great for teaware, and better for tea…higher weights of tea cost less (I think it’s .50 savings per 50 grams?) and there seems to be a discount if you return the emptied tins. You can peruse all the teas, and smell what you want, drink in store or buy some to take home. I, for one, did and will continue to do all three!

Presently there is no place in Halifax to sit and savor sumptuesity. That is…being present in a place that is tea; except when visiting Mie Mie at the Sawadee Tea House. Take a stroll down Granville Market and stop by the historic properties along the Halifax waterfront area to take in the over 100 varieties of organic, green, black, white and oolong teas. Share in the East Coast hospitality that only Halifax can offer you as you taste your way to tea-heaven!
