Premium Steap Edit

This is my “go to” for tea’s in Philadelphia. I tried another venue and was met with snobbery. Premium Steap is beautiful. The tea ware and storage is awesome as are the stocked teas. The owner always sends me out with samples and greets me when I come in. (I do a lot of tea exchanges and always include something from here). The staff are really helpful and don’t treat me like a moron because I am new to loose leaf. If you are ever in Philadelphia, stop by. It is worth it. Good seasonal selection of Chinese green teas, but I wish they were a little more adventurous and carried a few Indian first flushes and pu-erhs. Very reasonable pricing.

Wow, while this place has some good teas and great tea-ware, I am never going back again. The owner was in the store the day I attended, and while she may have just been having a bad day, she was incredibly rude to me. She didn’t say a word to me and whenever I asked her a question she was rude and seemed annoyed. She was quick to get me out the door. Not recommended.

Edit: Okay, so I stopped in again not too long ago just to see some tea ware. This visit was much better. I didn’t feel like I was being rushed out or ignored. Completely changed my mind about this place. Excellent teas, great location, and (contrary to my original review) a very helpful staff.

Excellent, extensive, unique selection of loose leaf teas. Knowledgeable staff, owner often in house and very helpful. Beautiful teaware! I look forward to every visit.
