After spending the whole summer in Nashville, and as a tea lover, I can’t believe I didn’t find this place sooner! The fact that such a great traditional tea shop can be found in a sleepy strip mall in Franklin is astonishing. They were really enthusiastic about getting everyone from the tea novice to (relative) tea expert involved in gong fu tea preparation, and they had us sample a wide range of teas. I urge you to sample their oolong from their village, as it’s one of the better oxidized Chinese oolongs I’ve had. They have a fantastic selection of teaware, including a number of various tea trays, one of which I bought mainly due to their exceptional sales skills (you probably will go home with something, as I was happy to do).
A truly wonderful tea shop. Jenny, the owner, is super friendly and willing to turn the world on to tea. She sat down with us and made us 9 or 10 different types of tea, while also educating us about the certain teas and the history of tea in her village in China. A great assortment of tea’s (many from her village in China) and Tea ware. Nashville’s ONLY place to shop for the serious tea drinker. If you live in Nashville or visit, please stop by Music City Tea. We desperately need a store like this in our city. The Dong Ting Oolong is a personal favorite.
