time to do a full review.

when i take out the teabag and smell it, it smells like lotus flower with a hint of mushroom.

when i place teabag in, i can smell a little more of the mushroom.

three minutes later the mushroom aroma is stronger.

finally after five minutes, the tea has a strong taste of mushroom soup just the way i like this tea! the color of the tea is a dark yellow (if not a little lighter) and the mushroom aroma is at its peak. i suggest this tea for anyone who likes mushrooms and mushroom soup

Today I had tea with two of my daughters and this was one of our tastings. We tasted this and three other teas and we all agreed that this was our favorite. We sweetened it a wee bit with the German rock sugar from Teavana. This tea was suprisingly robust. It seemed like a thicker infusion than I was expecting. It was a full, sweet, flowery and fruity taste. I would definitely buy this tea and enjoy keeping some on hand. It is decaffeinated and I presume a tisane. I did not detect any real tea leaves of any sort. Nevertheless it is quite tasty and I think it would be yummy mixed in with iced tea. My daughter that supplied this one said she has mixed it with lemonade previously and that it is terrific that way with lots of ice on a hot summer day. It was good hot today in my opinion. It would be enjoyable in the evening also when I don’t want anything decaffeinated.

Fennel notes introduce this sweet blend, with the taste building on the palate with notes of red clover and echinacea. This steep climb bursts onto a mountain plateau of lemon balm hidden amongst nettle leaves. A quick dash of fenugreek reminds you to push on and makes you feel like you are somewhere very exotic…….this journey ends with a splashing water slide of sweetness as liquorice sweeps over the palate like a refreshing ray of sun.

Found the spice to be a perfect accompaniment to the vegetal flavor of the mate. Subdues well with milk, though most of the flavors were overpowered by the cinnamon once I added milk.

I just want to note that while I haven’t brewed any of this yet (and probably won’t for a couple of days), this arrived this afternoon—and as I was putting it into a tin, all I could think is that it looks and smells like something that would be put out in bowls as bar snacks at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Santa Fe, something I’d eat way too much of as we set out on an unforgettable night of tequila shots and tattoos.

Cofftea

hmmm… kind of a spicy valentine’s tisane. Sounds yummy!

I have to agree with Mr. Waffles on this one, I found it just not very interesting nor very satisfying. On the nose I did get light floral notes and plum. Palate was similar with a light sweetness in the back of the mouth, did not improve using various techniques.

A lovely pale green with a very pleasant, delicate floral scent. The flavor is nicely green with that floral scent coming out very mildly in the taste. A very refreshing tea.

I always click recommend on teas because I would love for the world to share a love of teas, just like a love of books.

This is not a tea that is overwhelming to the senses, it is just a tea. But like books, some people might not be able to get enough of it. Others might hate it, and others might taste once and forget about it. For my book reading tea loves, I recommend books that are either loved or hated.

Books recommended for this tea are: The Alchemist by Paulo Cohelo, Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess

I would recommend a stronger steeping time to see if it brings out the flavors in this as well.

Not bad, but not so good too. I think i don’t like cake tasting tea (makes me feel like i’m eating liquid cake). Carrot cake’s fan should try it although! I tasted it at a DAVIDsTEA store!

This is Almond Biscotti “tweaked” and renamed. It is good, exactly the same as Almond Biscotti (I heard from someone that they’re using a higher quality tea base & fresher ingredients), but don’t buy thinking you’ll be getting a brand new blend of tea! I brewed the two side by side in exactly the same way and I tasted no difference whatsoever.

Definitely a good, medium-bodied dessert tea!

Light and floral. Definitely sense the hint of natural citrus and honey like qualities.

Giving this another go, though I don’t expect to enjoy is too much.
Just as well.
Tanniny.
Kenyan-y with not much else
Has the aroma of a tidal creek.
I am about to take drastic action…..
I’ve added milk and sugar. It’s now passable.
There’s plenty of other teas to choose from, next time, I’ll have something else.

This is my favorite black tea that I’ve tried. I love the delicate aroma of caramel and vanilla, and the taste, with some sugar and milk, is just like a dessert. Shoot, I don’t even eat “dessert” anymore, I just drink teas like this! It’s amazing and has just the right amount of caffeine… (Am I the only person who sometimes gets put to sleep with delicious black teas? Earl Grey being number one on that list) It comes in a beautiful tin, is highly affordable, and is something I recommend everyone try (at least once!)

drank Earl Grey by Twinings

Water: 8oz

Leaves: tea bag

Measuring Spoon: no

Steep: 4m

Aroma: Peppery,Sweet/floral?

Color: Deep reddish brown

Clarity: a faint cloudiness

Taste: This was my first Earl Grey experience, pouring the water over the tea bag i notices a slight peppery aroma. After steeping the aroma had changed to a more Sweet/floral one, it’s quite interesting since i don’t think I’ve come across a tea like this scent wise. The color was a deep reddish brown with a bit of cloudiness but i could still see threw my cup. As for taste i found it to be a bit bitter as for the overall flavor profile it was tough to pinpoint exactly & leaves a dry mouth feel. Overall not the worst or best tea I’ve tried, it’s just okay.

Sooooo excited to try this one from Blue Teapot as I am very new to Blue Teapot Teas! This one is colorful blend-wise and smells nice and floral and woodsy. I can taste the jasmine and cherry primarily. It has a bit of a woodsy aftertaste. Not what I expected…but then again…not real sure what I WAS expecting…and I am not saying that in a bad way…it’s a tasty tea…the flavor just surprised me, I guess.

Beautiful liquor and a light taste more reminiscent of a white tea than the usually grassy greens that I drink. The Jasmine scent was nigh overwhelming out of the tin, but the tea itself was more subdued and found a good balance between overbearingly flowery and a breezy whiff of posies. I think I like the Dragonwell green offered by Andrew & Dunham more than this, but the Jasmine green still makes for a great cuppa.

I second the Coca Cola descriptions! When I first smelled it I immediately thought of Cherry Coke. It is quite nice in the morning, but I find I can’t rely on it as a true “pick me up”—I need something stronger like a black tea. But if I’m awake already, it’s quite lovely.

Really looking forward to trying this one… First one I got delivered from outside of Croatia.
Gonna steep it for 7 minutes as most do. Ill try less some other time.

Color – very bright and clear. Just barely yellow.

Smell – the plant itself smells strong herbal but the filtered tea has almost no smell. The little something i am getting is very pleasant.

Taste – mmm wow interesting. i don’t even know how to describe this. starts with an acid but still delicate feeling in my mouth but then it reaches the back of my mouth and all the herbal flavors go wild. love the scent of air in my mouth and nose after taking a sip of this tea. and it lasts. oh its amazing and i don’t know how to put it in words. acid note, the sweet note, ant the very special yummy herbal note mix together in a feeling that lasts longer than normal after every sip. and its all together very delicate. absolutely love this tea :) my new number one…

oh and its better when i drink it really slow. let it be acid for a little while then let it reach the back of my mouth where it becomes great. reminds me a bit of some kind of nut or seeds i eat here and there. not sure what, maybe sunflower seeds, or pumpkin…

drank Guava Cadabra by DAVIDsTEA

Whew! Summer has certainly made an appearance in Chicago this week. With today in the 80s, I was craving iced tea like nobody’s business. Luckily, I had some of this left over from a tea party I hosted a few weeks ago, and brewed it hot (double strength) before pouring over ice. So refreshing and just what I needed. This is one of my favorite iced teas from Davids, largely because the guava flavor is so uncommon to me.

I have the loose leaf version of this. I made this in a traditional chai preparation with brown sugar and skim milk. I am pleasantly surprised. The last tea I prepared this way was not great (Bengal Spice), which was obviously due to the tea I used. It was a bit labor intensive, but SO worth it. I suspect this would be good iced also.

This fruit melange steeps to a gorgeous purplish-red. Very lively flavor, full-bodied, pleasantly astringent and tart. I like this one more with every sip I take. And yes, there is a touch of creaminess. Glad I bought a full tin of this one!
