Popular Tasting Notes
Ginger ginger ginger. It was way too much and nearly overpowered everything else. To top that off, what little peach flavor I could taste turned out to be totally disgusting combined with the ginger. I could barely taste any of the tea itself underneath at all. I was given this box for free by someone trying to get rid of it, and I see why — I’d drink just about anything rather than have a cup of this forced on me.
Preparation
I normally only like teas that I don’t have to add anything to. This one is not so great on it’s own. Mostly taste the spice but not the black tea. BUT if you make a latte out if it, it’s awesome!! I mix in some raw honey and sugar and then froth some milk in my french press. Excellent desert tea.
Preparation
Not my favourite from Mariage Freres. The Butterscotch flavour is artificial and is sickly sweet. Unlike other teas from this maker which have thick and rich mouthfeel, this is rather thin and watery even after adding full cream milk. Adding milk improves and flattens out the flavour but the artificial aroma and sickly sweet taste (which is almost metallic) remains. Would not recommend.
Flavors: Butterscotch, Caramel
Preparation
I really love this tea and I don’t care much usually for tea blends or flavored teas. However, the rose petals in this tea really add a heady flair to this that makes me want to keep drinking it. It’s definitely a spring tea, though.
Preparation
Brewed in a pot this time.
I’m definitely getting more promised fruitiness now, even light aroma is present. Better but still far from great.
Looks like this tea isn’t supposed to be brewed in a gaiwan, too much heat dissipation which affects the taste.
I’m upping the rating a bit.
