Perfect cup to relax with now that everyone in the house is asleep :) This smells good and tastes good!
92 Tasting Notes
Never tried this before! Had my first cup yesterday afternoon and loved it! I can add milk and sugar and still taste the nice flavor of tea. ( When I add milk and sugar to Twining’s Irish Breakfast the tea seems overwhelmed by the additions, which is strange considering that it is supposed to be really strong. )
This is so yummy that I went to bed last night actually looking forward to my PG Tips in the morning! Woke up early today and ALMOST got out of bed at a crazy-early hour just because I was craving this tea. LOL Anyways, this is obviously a keeper and will replace my former morning favorite, Twining’s Irish Breakfast. :)
Another one that I didn’t like at first and now have grown to really appreciate. Got another variety pack (yes, I like them) and was really happy to have this cup of tea this afternoon! Tastes lovely.
More thoughts on the tea I logged late yesterday afternoon…couldn’t stop thinking about this tea!! Love love love this. I should have eaten before I had it b/c I wasn’t hungry at all for dinner. Guess that would be good if I were on a diet! I will purchase a box of this as soon as I’m able too. I love the clarity that I felt after drinking it. Also seemed to be a mood elevator. I promise, I drank it and didn’t smoke it;)
Smells earthy and tastes rich, if that’s possible for a green tea. Not light tasting in my opinion. Not sure if I’d buy a box, but it is good for plain green tea.
I’m such a dork. Had this in the morning and it tasted good today when my previous review was not too favorable. I’m pretty sure that my tea reviews might match my emotional state/hormones on that particular day, which is not surprising since I’m a female, LOL. It is what it is :)
Smells like Green Tea Tropical, tastes ooogles better from any mate I’ve tried. Usually I get such a “coffee like” flavor from mate, but that is not the case here. I like it!
Picking up a term I’ve seen used here: meh. I’ll drink it but I do like Twining’s version much better. Just felt like giving Stash a try since their selection is hit or miss here and I take what I can get sometimes!
Depeche Mode’s song “I Just Can’t Get Enough” sufficiently sums up how I feel about this tea. I just can’t get enough and always say I’m just going to have “one more cup”.
Seriously dying to compare this to Barry’s, though, since I hear that is the tea of choice in Ireland. Just can’t decide which one I should get- the Barry’s “Gold” or the “Original” that comes in the green box. Then I’ll let Twining’s and Barry’s duke it out for my morning start :)
Got another one of these tea bags in a sample from a gift my sister sent me. Tastes richer than I remember. I’m currently waiting on an order I placed with Mighty Leaf that has a green tea assortment box. Can’t wait to try other types. Apparently my order is slowly crawling across the country from California to South Carolina. S-L-O-W UPS Ground service! Ugh!
Really hard to drink this today after getting used to my travel tin of Honey Ginseng Green by Republic of Tea!
Upon another try this morning and then checking out my previous review, I can’t help but laugh. Was I truly saying I preferred Bigelow’s English Breakfast to this? A whole leaf tea bag compared to a measly tea bag which is fine in it’s own right but certainly not in the same category? Hahaha. I have to laugh at myself. :)
This tasted really good this morning. Getting ready to have a second steep- love that about Mighty Leaf.
1st cup this morning finishing up sample tin. Not bad, but I’m currently enjoying my second cup from a whole leaf tea bag which is clearly superior.
The more I choose tea over coffee in the morning, the more I realize that I must invest in an electric kettle. It’s torture to wait the 3 and a half minutes it takes my microwave to boil water, especially when I’m desperately in need of a wake up. The coffee pot’s instant caffeine is tempting this morning (hubby still requires coffee), but I waited b/c I gave in yesterday to the convenience of coffee and it just tasted horrible. Starting back to work in a little over a week and really need to figure out a way to speed up this process. Besides getting up earlier, any suggestions? Any recommendations on reasonable tea kettles here in the US?
Trying to use this up from my sample tin. Twinings still wins and I will pick that up when I’m done with this. Still, a good pick me up for mid afternoon. Just kind of blah. I could pick up on the lingo and say this needs more cow bell, LOL. Every time I read that I can’t help but think of the skit on SNL with Will Ferrell. I’m assuming this is where the term came from? Could be wrong!
Sweet Orange Dulce back in my life after an extended absence, or so it seemed to me. Drinking out of my new Mighty Leaf Tea Top Brew Mug- sleek, convenient, and currently keeping my beloved tea so hot that I can barely drink it! This is just as good as I remember it and even better now that I have my little brew mug that is oh so handy :)
Ummm, sweet would be the word for this one! Ok upon first few sips when it’s hot, but it really just gets to be too much. Never would have chosen this myself- Mom got for me and had it at her house. Now I’ve made it iced in an effort to get rid of it. Better iced, but still not my favorite.
Love at first taste! Never tasted matcha before, but now I want more. Had a medium size one tonight with no sugar syrup. Very tasty and very green. Smelled wheatgrassy to me, but tasted heavenly- sweet on it’s own no need for that syrup:) Will go back for this!
Had a Vanilla Rooibos Tea Latte at Starbucks tonight. It was pretty tasty. I told them to leave out the sugar syrup that they usually add. So it was just the tea and steamed milk. Think next time I’ll just go with the tea because the milk muddles the flavor a bit I think- and they charge extra just to put steamed milk in there!
Just like their Ginger Peach, I find myself sniffing the tea cup even after it’s gone. Weird, huh? And just like Ginger Peach, I find myself wanting another cup immediately after finishing the first.
Second go round. 3 minutes is the way to go for steeping time. Glad I got a travel tin since I think Twinings English Breakfast is better.
Tried this today for the first time. Two cups, first steeped 5 minutes, second 4 minutes. Tasted good. Think tomorrow I’ll try 3 minutes and see how that goes. Foggy this am since I stayed up for New Year’s Eve, so probably not the best morning to assess tea :)
Finally tried this tea yesterday! It was good, but a little too close to coffee for my taste. To be honest, when I tasted it straight up it reminded me of Celestial Seasonings Morning Thunder. I had the guy add sugar and milk and that helped. Wasn’t sure what to expect as far as the effect of mate, but this left me feeling like I needed some good strong black tea, LOL! Got home, had some earl grey and felt much better :) Oh well, glad I got to try it- it’s all about the experience!
Had another cup of this at Books A Million today and bought the travel tin. Books A Million is waaaay out of my way and I still manage to find a way to “stop by” and grab a cup of this tea! Got a little package of walkers shortbread to go with it- yummy!
Got a travel tin of this today to give it a try. First impression is smooth, light, slightly sweet, mild. Nice difference from the regular Bigelow plain green tea I drink. Will have another cup tomorrow and log my second impressions.
