Happy New Year Steepster!! I am still working on some of my older teas and this is one I have had time and time again and yet it doesn’t seem to be going down in the tin at all. At least it tastes good, even if there is some flavor deterioration.

This is significantly better hot because it is not as cloying. However, hot, it is still more rooibos and maple than anything else and I am left feeling underwhelmed. Oh well.

Eggnog Latte Sipdown…sorta since I am passing on the last serving or so of this (376)

This is a tasty tea and it will be sad to see it go but it is perhaps showing its age just a touch. I have just recently ordered Necessiteas’ Cherry Cola rooibos so perhaps that can be a replacement…we shall see…

i’m enjoying this one..though i love the one from 52 teas more…but this one has no caffeine!

So you’re saying you have this one…and I should not be giving you the last serving or two of mine…

Made this as a plain tea and it actually tastes like eggnog this time around. I’ve enjoyed it but I am also okay to say bye…for now

Finishing this off with the pineapple/chicken skewers and jalapeño poppers my family and I made to satisfy our hunger brought on by the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives marathon on the Food Network. The food was a let down but this tea is as good as ever with a fair punch of banana flavour that is usually more subtle and the awesome roastiness of the rice. Plus it’s ever so fluffy thanks to the marshmallow so I am pleased and would be heartbroken saying bye if I didn’t have more of this ordered.

Sil

haha go you!

Ooooooh I just ordered some of that tea! I’m more excited to try it after reading this!

I had this about a year ago and recall it being bland and disappointing so I have put off having it again until now. However, today I brewed it much better because there is more to it than just a subpar black tea. It is vanilla, a touch cocoa and then leather. Sounds weird but its nice.

This one makes me happy.

I was going to write a Sororitea Sister review of this tea but honestly I don’t have much to say other than this is floral and dry. Maybe a little malty but mostly I think I steeped potpourri. One orchid might be too much in a tea for my tastes so I really took a risk by drinking a tea that boasts 6.

eep!

I have been hoarding this and I probably should get to work as they are getting old so today I brewed one up as an eggnog latte. Creamy. Custardy. Minty. Chocolatey. Yum.

The tea is described as fruity and herbaceous and that basically hits the nail on the head. Sweet raspberry gives way to sage which gives way to rosemary. Not my choice but could be pleasant for those that like this sort of thing.

With the end of 2017 imminent, I am trying to get through some of my pre-2017 teas that are hanging out in my Sipdown box. This is one of those teas and with just 1 serving left, it was an easy sipdown to say the least.

Today it is more citrus and rum than anything else, which I think is making this an easier goodbye. I enjoyed this tea and even though some cups were better than others, all were tasty.

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

Tea Ratings Guide (as of December 10, 2017)
90-100 Teas I NEED on hand at all times
80-89 Teas I want to keep around for a cup every now and then
70-79 Teas I am glad I have around and can experiment with but probably don’t need more than what’s in my cupboard
60-69 Teas I would not turn down a cup of from a friend but that would probably be enough
50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
