I brewed this up and it is quite nice in the sense that it is certainly sweet like sticky toffee syrup. The base contributes a bit of bready notes to which helps sell the idea of the pastry. At the same time, it is contributing a date note which is sweet but not syrupy like the other components in the tea. Consequently this has a well-rounded flavor that captures its namesake without being so over-the-top sweet that it gives you a toothache.

Spice is such a strange thing because people can handle different levels of it. I know in my family, what my siblings consider spicy, I find is not. So, when I sip on this tea, though there is a chipotle flavor, it is not one that has much spice to it. That leaves me wanting more. Also, the focus is on the chipotle so there is a touch of chocolate flavor but not much and not one that is creamy like a chocolate pudding. All in all, this is not bad but it is also not for me.

Finished this off iced because it’s about a year old and it just seemed like it was time. This is a soft lemon tea but with age the flavor deteriorated. The hibiscus is still present though so this is tart and artificial lemon.
Made this as a latte today and I have to say, it is pretty disappointing. There’s a slight eggyness to it but the black tea base is fighting to be the center of attention and it’s just not very good. Even worse, the whole drink just tastes watered down. Tbh, I dumped the mug after trying to drink it and realizing I have so much tea that I don’t need to waste my time with subpar lattes.
Iced sipdown
I enjoyed this one a great deal and I am sad to see it go. It accurately captures cranberry soda which is weird given this is a flat drink that still has the effervescence of pop. It’s sweet but not overly so and it was delightful both hot and iced. I don’t recall trying this as a teapop and that might have been a missed opportunity. Hopefully I will have the chance to try this again in the future.

When I had this the first time I brewed it hot and definitely was not impressed. This time around I decided to try something different and dumped the teabag into 1/2 a bottle of water to cold brew overnight. I think it has steeped for 12 hours now and yet it has very little flavor. It is less astringent than the hot brew but also less fruity. And has a slight vegetal quality, nothing else. If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought I accidentally grabbed a plain water bottle. I guess this one just isn’t for me but thank you Arby for the share and the chance to try something new!

This is one from Angel at Teavivre. Thank you! I steeped this for about 5 minutes and since that only 1/2 opened the tightly wrapped ball, I probably should have steeped this for longer. Nonetheless, the tea is the typical white tea hue so I figured it might be okay. Flavorwise, it is light but flavorful with notes often associated with white tea like sweet corn, hay and butter. It is good but it is also a plain white tea, which is not something I reach for very often. So, I would recommend this for those who enjoy white teas even though I myself probably won’t revisit it anytime soon.

I have had this sample from Cavocorax for months now. It got lost amongst my ever-growing stash. Though today I found it and brewed it up. It is quite lovely. Soft and creamy coconutty vanilla goodness. My cup was underleafed and old and it is still good so I imagine this tea fresh is probably pretty awesome. Thank you Cavo for the share!!
