Too much licorice and stevia for me. The peppermint flavor is nice, but pretty much overwhelmed for me by the licorice and sweetness, even if I steep at the low end of the recommended time. I feel like I’m just working my way through this tea. Anyone want it?

i should just stop getting teas with licorice in them.

I LOVE THIS TEA. It’s so evocative of… Russia? Toasty mate with a kick of orange and a hint of bittersweet chocolate all somehow come together in a clean, unmuddled way. Delicious smells and good tannins, but the flavor isn’t nearly as strong as the smell (which I like – a tea that tasted as strong as this one smells would overwhelm me). I could see this being nice with a dash of milk, but I almost always take my tea plain. I’ll have to buy more once this small sample is gone.

Second steeping: smell is more toasty, less orange and chocolate. Flavor is much more black tea/mate. Doesn’t resteep so well (probably because of the herbal flavorings). Means I’ll be going though this one pretty quickly.

Oh yes – and a good kick, too!

Very lemony and lemongrassy (almost like Trix cereal!), but I like the flavor. A nice bitterness and a good kick from the mix of tea and mate. The second steeping is more bitter, but still enjoyable, but I don’t think this would stand up to a third steep! I used the looseleaf instead of the muslin bags and ended up with a lot of particulates in the bottom of my cup. Not sure if I’ll repurchase when I finish my 20g tin – I think so far I prefer the grapefruity BB Detox from Kusmi.
