338 Tasting Notes
This was a pleasant surprise! Sweet, yes, but not overly so, in my opinion. Very light and refreshing, and definitely reminiscent of the typcial cotton candy taste. I almost forget I was drinknig rooibos. Had this is a to go today, and will definitely be back for more!
I think I put too many leaves in when I made this earlier today – super strong, super earthy and not as much peach flavour as I wanted. Boo. Or maybe it’s just better as an iced blend, which I’ll have to try soon. That said, I did like the taste, once I got used to it. And I love that this is organic and not mass market. A couple of things I’m trying to get into more. Curse living on an island where shipping isn’t so easy to do!
Tried this one on a bit of a whim – my local DT is running out of fruit-based flavours that I haven’t tried iced, haha. I definitely got the earthy base from this one, and while the peach/papaya flavours were there, they weren’t as strong as I would liked for them to have been. I know that’s kind of the whole point of drinking maté, but still.
Don’t really know what I was expecting with this murky green coloured tea…. But oh my, it was even better than I thought! I did add some agave, though, so that may have helped. There are still other flavours I like better, but I did appreciate the presence of strawberry in this one.
This one has so mkany flavours in it that I’m honestly not quite sure what to make of it. I don’t think I steeped it long enough, as the flavour was a bit more milder than what I was expecting. I wished it had more pineapple, though! I love pineapple-infused teas.
After I realsied I had a weird craving for ginger, I picked up 25g of this this afternoon. Nice and warm and soothing and very spicy – exactly what I was looking for. It’s nice to get back to the basics every now and again! I will definitely be picking more of this up (especially when my stash of Hot Mama runs out).
I love Earl Grey blends, but oddly didn’t enjoy this one as much as I thought I would. It was still good, mind you, but there was a hint of… something in my cup that just tasted a little off. Maybe it was the rooibos (lord knows I have an up and down relationship with that). I wish they weren’t discontinuing the decaf earl grey, as I like that blend much better – I think true Earl’s are meant to be of the black tea family.
Man, the summer collection from DT this year so far is can’t miss! Another delicious offering! As I wanted to make this iced, I was a little wary of the mint flavour (I love it in hot teas, but iced is hit or miss), but as soon as I took my first sip, all my worries about that vanished. This is so good. And I didn’t even add sweetener, which apparently makes the melon flavour come out even more (I may try that at a later date, even though I usually do all my iced teas unsweetened). This blend is definitely a win!
