New Tasting Notes
I had this one yesterday after returning from the weekend market in my city. It had unexpectedly warmed up (oh March/April in Tasmania, so unpredictable!), so the boyfriend and I decided iced tea was the way to go. I did his Pink Flamingo in the steeper, so I made mine in a cocktail shaker (so easy, the best lazy iced tea option – just chuck everything in, water, ice tea sweetner etc, shake to mix and leave to steep for the required time then pour!). It was pretty warm yesterday, so I ended up having almost three different steeps in one brew!
I poured my first one after 5 minutes. The flavour in the first steep was a bit mild, almost like a gentle green. I could taste the tartness, as well as a bit of sweetness (not sure if it was the strawberry or the agave I added…). The colour was a mild pink, almost a salmon pink. I topped up the glass at 8 and 12 minutes with the remainder of the shaker contents. The colour and flavour became increasingly strong, the tartness and sweetness were more pronounced and the tea became tastier. I enjoyed all the flavour levels, but think the stronger one was best.
Overall opinion? Tasty as an iced tea (will have to try hot), especially when left (or forgotten!) to steep. Not as good as Pink Flamingo, and while I enjoyed it I don’t think I’d order some (not worth the international shipping), though I’d probably grab a cup or two if I lived closer to a DT!
Preparation
This is another unique gem from the Tropical Tea Co (TTC) March Madness sale. I’m a little bit behind on my logging… we had another box from them waiting when we got home from shopping earlier. We tried three, all good, and I’m just now getting around to posting a tasting note, with just a teensy tiny bit of tea left in my cup!
This tea is very, very good. Though, the green tea is completely hidden by the vanilla. I absolutely love vanilla. I could have a vanilla house, with a vanilla door, and a little vanilla puppy laying next to my vanilla slippers. And in said vanilla-villa, this tea would fit perfectly.
What’s interestingly lacking in this tea… is the green tea. I don’t necessarily find that bad, I just find it odd. The vanilla flavoring is smooth, it doesn’t taste fake, it doesn’t taste forced, but it is really the only taste that I discern. I’d expect this from a vanilla white tea, not from a green.
At any rate… this is a very smooth, very enjoyable, creamy, luscious vanilla tea, that I am going to very much savor. I only wish we would have tried this with our first box from TTC, so that we would have bought more of it from our second. But seeing as how I’ve received roughly five pounds of tea from them in the past three weeks, it will probably be a little while before i order any more. I haven’t tried others teas with this flavor combination (or flavor obfuscation, more like!), but I’d be happy to continue purchasing this from TTC for… well… ever. Missy wouldn’t let me stop ordering it if I tried.
Preparation
Grabbed my usual 10g of this one today when at the store to try it out. Dry it smells lovely, all lemony with no backhints or anything making me question if I’m going to like it. Once brewed my first sips were mostly a light lemon flavouring, making me wonder where the cream was, other than in the ever so slight floaties I saw as I pulled my infuser. A few more sips and I found the cream and it added a nice note. As the cup cooled, though, I found that I noticed the flavour less and less, and just kept drinking it because it was there more than anything else.
It is a nice tea, but I don’t think I’ll be restocking since I already have a white lemon which I prefer. Still, this is the first tea from Davids in a while that I’ve given a solid ranking to!
Preparation
Best decision I have made so far. Tea wise…
Steeps for perfect amount of time.
At the perfect temperature.
Has every bell and whistle you can ever imagine.
The basket moves up and down using magnets!
Cleans extremely easy.
makes 1200ml = 5cups of tea at a time.
the power cord was fixed! it now wraps under the base extending to several feet.
This company really thought of everything… If you have any doubt read the 30+ page instruction manual available online. It will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know.
We have a home!
An amazing place that is empty but gorgeous, and we’re slowly filling it (very sloooowly).
I am sitting at my cheap cheap dining table, the only seating in the house, and celebrating with this delicious cup of Vanilla Comoro, brewed to perfection with my.. wait for it..
variable temp kettle! eeee!
It’s gooorgeous baby. You can change the temperature by degree, so I brewed the first cup at 175 because I find this tea to be a little finicky in the bitter department sometimes. It was perfect, vanilla, sweet just lovely! Did a second cup at boiling (212) and it was just as good.
So yes! Happiness! Happiness and tea!
Thanks friends! All is well, ah thank goodness.
Here is the Kettle I purchased from.. probably Walmart haha (I know, but we’d go broke if we didn’t buy some things there right now! Horrible. bleh! Anyways). It’s Black and Decker so it has a 2 year warranty which I love, and it was only around 60 bucks compared to some of the very pricey ones.

Congratulations. Empty, you say? Is it common to buy houses complete with furniture where you live? You never see that here.
Thank you!
Well, apartment-wise anyways you can get furnished apartments. I’m pretty sure you’d have to be a millionaire plus though, they are suuuper pricey.
You’ll have to keep us updated on how the kettle works, & durability, etc.! I think I was eyeing that same kettle last time I was in Walmart, but there wasn’t a price in the vicinity and I reaaalllly need to stop buying new things….
Symphony is a black tea by Bayswater Tea Company. The best way to describe this tea is “sitting pretty.” There’s really little about it that jumps up as better than average. The liquid is a dark amber color and the aroma, after the first steep, is sweet and slightly floral. The taste is sweet lemon, pleasant to be sure, but nothing fancy. Almost sleepy. In subsequent steepings, the taste of lemon becomes more pronounced.

Brewing suggestions: boiling water/1 teaspoon tea per 1 cup water/steep 3 min
Preparation
This was the newest David’s Tea to their collection.
I decided to try it iced.
The dry smell is mostly lemon. You can definitely see the green and white teas.
After it was steeped this was a refreshing iced tea. It was the perfect amount lemon and it was not overpowering at all. I didn’t taste much of an Earl Grey flavour, but I did think that it was similar to iced teas you can prebuy (Nestea or Liptons). Still one of the good ones and I will go back for some on a hot summer day….soon.
