Dry note: Hint of sweetness
Wet Notes: I could only smell rooibos

Unfortunately this tea is one of my least favourites just because I can barely taste the raspberry and all I can taste is rooibos. The ratio of additives to tea is probably a bit off.

The smell comes off a lot different than expected. I feel like if you put this under my nose while I was blindfolded, I would think that this is more of a herbal tea (I guess it’s the honeybush and lemongrass). Even with honeybush and lemongrass, I hardly taste those…maybe a bit, but not enough to tell the ingredients apart.

I really want to try this iced before I come to a conclusion, but I don’t think it’ll make much of a difference. Rooibos is a hit or miss with me…but I am starting to like it a bit more.

drank The Earl of Lemon by DAVIDsTEA

I picked up 10g of this and the manager told me that it was really good—and she is not a fan of Earl Grey…neither am I.

I finally got around to trying it today and WOW and I am really impressed! Normally it’s a meh taste for me, but I am really liking the smooth and citrusy flavours with a hint of bitterness that you normally encounter with earl greys.

I am definitely going to get a tin of this :)!

Darn. I really had high hopes for this one because DT usually does a good job with citrusy teas (Elf Help, Midsummer Night’s Dream, etc). I am disappointed with this one. I can tell they used a Japanese green tea instead of a chinese tea because of the nutty/grassy taste that comes out…I find it really overpowering. I don’t taste the orange at all…just green tea :(

drank Jolly Jellybean by DAVIDsTEA

I like this tea, not love it, but I like it. The dry scent of the leaves really draw me in, just because of it’s sweet and fresh smell (to me anyway).

When steeped, I found that this tea is OK, maybe I don’t like the red rooibos that much. I think if the tea was made with green rooibos, I would like it better. The round flavour of the red rooibos is overpowering at times and I barely taste the sweetness from the pineapple/other flavours.

Overall I like it just because I really like the smell and taste. Unfortunately it’s not a favourite :(

drank Green Rooibos by DAVIDsTEA

I really don’t like red rooibos at all. Which is a bit of a shame because it has a lot of health benefits. However, I do LOVE its counterpart: green rooibos!

At first green rooibos doesn’t appear to be anything special: It’s yellowy green and smells a bit nutty. When brewed, it comes out to be a very nutty and fresh taste at the same time! It’s really enjoyable as a straight tea and it looks like it will be my to go tea when I just want something uncaffeinated and unflavoured.

Mmmmm….I love this tea, especially a little sweetened and iced.

I have tried this both ways: hot and iced.

When hot, it tastes exactly like it smells as dry. Citrusy, minty, and sweet! MMMM! I believe it’s the safflowers that make the tea have more of a creamy taste to it.

When iced, oh my, this tea is absolutely amazing! The natural sweetness from the ingredients flavour the tea so well that you think you are drinking a sugary drink. There is definitely a lot of sweetness from the citrus oil and freshness from the mint. If I could drink a pitcher of this everyday…I totally would. It’s a really amazing one!

drank Creme Caramel Rooibos by DAVIDsTEA
87 tasting notes

From dry leaf I got a very nice caramel and sweet vanilla-y type of smell. I usually like dessert teas because it’s a very nice way to indulge without the calories.

Unfortunately I was disappointed. Upon drinking the liqueur, I could still smell the sweet notes of caramel, but I really can’t taste anything other than the rooibos itself. I am getting a very round flavour instead of a nice full bodied caramel. I was disappointed with this one.

EDIT: So I am trying this tea again. I don’t know if it’s because of my new steeper or because my city flushed the water mains, but this tea tastes really good!

Dry notes mentioned above are the same, so I won’t change it. As for the wet notes, I definitely pick up the sweet, nutty scent. Upon drinking, I was amazed how much flavour came through. It’s a very nice flavour: nutty, caramel, and sweet! I really feel like I am eating a creme brulee with its sweet caramel on top! I really enjoy this one now :)

I will definitely pick up a tin of this one. I really enjoyed it :)

I bumped up its rating!

drank Hot Lips (Organic) by DAVIDsTEA

I wasn’t expecting too much of this tea because I thought it was like Cinnamon Heart. I thought Cinnamon Heart was ok…the smell was there, but got an earthly taste.

From the dry leaf, I got a similar smell to Cinnamon Heart: Cinnamon heart candies!

Steeped tea: At first it was very light. It had a nutty grassy flavour and I could barely taste the kick. Once the tea started to cool to room temperature, I began tasting the nice sweet cinnamon and finally felt the kick! I feel as though one tasting does not do it justice, so I have to try it again.

drank La La Lemon (Organic) by DAVIDsTEA

This is my second try at La La Lemon. The first time my boyfriend got it as a to go, I couldn’t taste any lemon at all and thought it was a dud tea.

I finally picked it up again because a friend of mine bought some for herself and her mom and they both loved it. I figured maybe I just didn’t have enough citrus pieces the first time. Anyway, I decided to give it another go and wow! The lemon is picked up a lot better this time and this is probably one of the first black teas that I really enjoy.

Because the black tea leaves are Black Yunnan, it’s lighter in taste and I don’t get a huge bitter taste like I do with most teas because they use regular China black tea.

I might go back to pick up a tin!

My husband loves this one in the summer time as a iced tea but we mix it with Lemonade. He says it tastes like Nestea once he adds some simple syrup.

Thanks for the tip! I would really love to try it like this :)

drank Honey Bee by DAVIDsTEA
87 tasting notes

This is my second time trying out this tea. The first was hot this time it’s a cold tea drink.

I started out with hot Honeybee. From what I remember, I didn’t really like it. It was weird round, sickly honey to it. People told me to try it out iced.

I am trying this tea again, but iced. To me it really didn’t make a huge difference, it tastes the same as the hot version, but stronger. I get a sickly honey taste with some weird herb. I really can’t describe it, but it’s not for me!
