This is pretty good. It’s creamy with a definite coconut flavor. I do think the coconut could stand to be a bit stronger, and it’s just a touch artificial, but overall a very pleasant tea. The base is pretty unobtrusive, and not at all bitter, but doesn’t seem to add much to the blend.

I decided to try this because I have been super stressed out today. The baby has been teething lately, so he has been clingy and grumpy, and I am exhausted. I don’t really like it all that much. It has a lemony flavor, but also something unpleasantly medicinal that I don’t know by name, but have tasted in other medicinal herbal teas. I think a cup of chamomile or peppermint would be more relaxing for me.

This is pretty good. It’s a nice cinnamon-hibiscus with a hint of nuttiness. I can see why it reminds people a bit of Forever Nuts, but I definitely prefer that one. This one doesn’t remind me quite as much of a dessert, and tastes a bit less special, although it does seem like a good wintertime tea.

After a rocky start, I’ve actually started developing a fondness for earl grey’s, so I decided to give this a shot even though I tend not to like rooibos. It has a really unusual taste. The bergamot does seem to temper the medicinal flavor of rooibos, but it almost clashes with it at the same time. It ends up with a sharpness I tend to associate with menthol and a floral aftertaste. This tea tastes dissonant to me, but I sort of like it anyway? I don’t know exactly what to think. I’ll definitely finish this cup, which is better than I expected with the rooibos, and I may even have a second at some point to try and make up my mind about it. If you’re an adventurous taster, or a fan of rooibos or earl gray, you might want to give this a try. It’ so different.

Caveat Emptor! This company does not have their act together. My order was either never sent or lost in the mail, it took anywhere from a few hours to two weeks for them to answer emails, and when I finally got my order after six weeks, one of the items was missing.

Most of Herbal Infusions teas seem to be pretty weak. I tried this one with one teaspoon/8 oz, and could barely taste it. I tried it again with two teaspoons/8 oz. and it was much better. It’s still a very light tea, but I could taste caramel and black tea. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I wish I could have tasted the spices, but I really enjoyed this regardless.

This was pretty decent, but the flavor was a little weak for my tastes. I’m sure there are versions out there that I would enjoy more.

Lame. :/ Thanks for the heads up, though!

A few of their teas are pretty good, but definitely not worth dealing with the customer service.

I’ve tried this a few more times, and the more I drink it, the more I like it. If I use boiling water and a longer steep time (5-10 minutes) I get a smooth dark oolong with hints of dark chocolate and nutty rice. It’s a very relaxing tea. I can let it sit and steep without worrying about it if the boys interrupt me, and the taste, although mild, is unique and natural. It makes me wonder if any other companies make a black or oolong genmaicha.

is this a blend? flavored? sounds interesting.

It’s a blend. It’s made with laoshan black tea, wuyi oolong, toasted rice, and cacao nibs. It mostly tastes like oolong, with just hints of other flavors, but it’s really growing on me.

Hmm. I wasn’t really a fan of this one. It mostly tastes earthy and smokey to me. I don’t really taste cinnamon or bred. I might like it better if the cinnamon was stronger. Oh well, it was nice to try.

This is SOOO good! It’s an amazing dessert tea! It tastes like nuts, cinnamon, brown sugar, and something fruity. I’m going to have to buy some of this. It kind of reminds me of apple crisp topping. Seriously, this is delicious! I think I’ve found a new favorite. Thanks again Zach!

Bio

I drink a lot of herbal tea, and the occasional cup of traditional tea here and there. I enjoy experimenting with my own blends. I also enjoy stories, board games, music, nail polish, philosophy, science, teaching, and faith.

Flavors I like:
Tea (unflavored/dessert blacks, dark, floral or flavored oolongs, jasmine green, unflavored/fruity/floral whites)
Desert (caramel, cheesecake, chocolate, cream, honey, maple, molasses, vanilla)
Spices (allspice, anise, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, ginger)
Fruit(apple, blueberry, fig, grape, grapefruit, honeydew, lemon, lime, mango, orange, pineapple, plum, raspberry, strawberry, tangerine, watermelon)
Flowers (chamomile, chrysanthemum, hibiscus, jasmine, rose)
Nuts and seeds (coconut, hazelnut, pecan, cashew, sesame)
Grains(barley, rice)
Herbs (dandelion leaf, echinacea, green rooibos, honeybush, mint, rosemary, thyme)
Vegetables (carrot)

Flavors I Dislike: cardamon, elderflower, licorice root, stevia, tulsi; artificial cherry, and almond flavors; bitter smokey, leathery, medicinal, or overly sweet teas

Allergies and Sensitivities: lavender and stevia upset my stomach

I have participated in the Overboard TTB, the Butiki Herbal Blending Box, the Butiki Educational TTB, and the Puerh Beginners Box. I ran the Herbal TTB and the Monthly TTB Club, and am currently running the Herbal and Decaf TTB.

Ratings: I rate teas based not on their objective quality, but on how much I personally liked them. I mostly do this because it’s an easy way to tell at a glance if I’ve tried a tea before and if I’d be interested in buying it. It sometimes takes a while to sort through and find out whether or not I’ve reviewed a tea without rating it.
90-100: Truly excellent tea, will buy again, could drink it every day but might save it for special occasions because it’s just that good, will miss it if it’s not in my cupboard.
75-89: Really good tea, would buy. Might be a solid everyday tea, or something that has a strong appeal but doesn’t quite amaze.
66-74: Good tea, would buy, but will also look for better
50-66: Probably wouldn’t buy this tea, but would drink it if offered
33-49: I will never buy this tea, and would probably even turn it down if it was offered to me.
1-32: I hope to never drink this tea again

I currently have a young baby, so while I’m drinking lots of tea, my activity may be sporadic.
