Geek Steep S1E10 – Squirrel Girl
This week on the podcast we explored our first comic! Of course, at this point we’ve talked comics a lot – but for Squirrel Girl we actually read some! This was my fandom choice, and I was super excited to share it with Marika because Squirrel Girl is both a crazy, ridiculous comic character but also an insanely joyful, positive and happy one.
Like, Squirrel Girl is probably as much a feel good comic and I think there is!
On our Instagram Page, one of the things we do leading up to each new episode is often ask our followers what tea they would pair with the Geek of The Week and sometimes the answers are similar to what we chose to do and sometimes they’re drastically different. However, in the case of Squirrel Girl every single person responded with some kind of nutty tea. I mean, it’s obvious – this was to date the EASIEST tea to find a pairing for on the podcast.
I picked this one as a latte for two reasons – the first is the obvious one. Squirrels. Nuts. It’s a perfect match – everyone on IG new it, and I knew it too. The second, though, is just a touch deeper!? It’s just that a PBC latte feels like the perfect “basic bitch” drink that SCREAMS “picked this up from the on campus cafe on my way to class/after beating up Thanos”. I can just so vividly see the character of Doreen Green, who is a college student, doing exactly that and absolutely loving this tea made that way.
So, it was a pairing both for me but for the character as well!

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
