Iced Latte Sipdown (2517)!
Made this into a super fancy iced latte with whipped cream and even a chocolate syrup drizzle. It was delicious and my very extra toppings added just enough sweetness since this is definitely not a very sweet matcha at all despite the cocoa in it. Kind of an overall hot chocolate vibe to the drink minus, of course, the “hot” part. Very smooth, nice and decadent and also kind of fresh and umami from the matcha itself.
Wasn’t totally sure what to expect from this. I thought it might be very, very tea forward in a more tannic or medicinal way – especially with some of the ingredients in the blend. However, it was pretty sweet and fruity with a tropical kind of lean. Mango, perhaps? The finish was a little woody and cloying in the kind of way that ginseng specifically taste. I like the woody licorice-y taste of ginseng, so with the initial fruit notes I thought this was super approachable and pleasant.
Happy to report that I loved this tea just as much the second time! Lovely notes of bright, sweet lemon curd and creamy meringue with a smooth, grounding and slightly earthy pu’erh base. It all clicks together in a super satisfying way. Probably my favourite Magic Hour blend???
Cold Brew!
Drinking this one currently and it’s pretty refreshing and invigorating! Definitely very tart with a ton of hibiscus, but also surprisingly quite sweet with a nice mix of jammy, syrupy mixed berry notes. Saskatoon first and foremost (so nostalgic), but also blueberry, cherry, cranberries. Just full of flavour and life!
The mug of this that I drank earlier in the week was pretty enjoyable, but I have to admit that it mostly just tasted like a very classic, smooth Earl Grey with a tiny hint of lavender. Other than the strikingly cloudy and yellow-leaning cup colour from the pieces of pollen in the blend, I don’t know that I’d have registered this as a particularly “unique” Earl Grey or having a honey/bee sort of lean to it.
Something about this mug was a little off. It was chocolate-y but in a very fruity leaning way and the cherry notes were a little too tart and not candied enough for a Black Forest inspired blend. Just… sharp, and a little too tannic with a bitter/astringent black tea. I want more of a dense fudge-y chocolate note, and whipped cream, and just a whole other style of cherry. Womp womp.
I was ready to now love this tea bag, but it actually ended up being pretty solid. Mostly because of the peach notes because wow those were some intense and juicy peach notes! Like, juicy in the sense that it did taste a lot like I was drinking actual peach juice. The ginger added a soft earthiness, and a bit of back end heat. It was weird because I think I’d have enjoyed this tea just as much if it were solely peach but I did feel like the ginger did TECHNICALLY create more balance. Just the peach would have been very sweet and maybe a little cloying. The matcha dusting and green tea base weren’t entirely eclipsed but they definitely took the backseat here…
But yeah, peach loves don’t sleep on this one!
Iced!
This is the tea that I made to drink during this past week’s board game night! I think I need to bring more of this home because it’s really become one of my favourite iced teas lately. Those deep purple and slightly floral elderberry and hibiscus notes are so different from anything else in my stash right now, and it’s a great balance of flavours. Not too sweet, not too tart, not too floral – just enough of all three.
The game this week was Septima! It has this sort of “Dark Academia” vibe to it and is themed around witches with three different sort of win paths you can take: brewing potions to heal villagers, expanding your spell book, and helping save other witches on trial. It was my first time playing, and I actually won! Really, really good game.

Iced!
Made this earlier in the week because I wanted something bright and fruity with just a bit of caffeine. As was the intention when developing this tea, it leans in to that kind of nostalgic “juice pouch” (cough, Capri Sun, cough) flavour profile with the ripe strawberry juice notes leading the way. The kiwi is milder, but I love the way it almost adds a “bounciness” to the different layers of flavour, and it’s a great finishing note.
