15662 Tasting Notes
Okay, I’ll just say it…
Lemongrass Milk Pudding, as a concept, does NOT sound appetizing to me.
With that said, the tea itself isn’t so bad! It’s very lemongrass forward but that should be expected given the name and dry leaf visual. The coconut comes through strongly too, and I can taste the FAINTEST hint of funk from it aging but it’s not so bad, and probably played up in part from the citrusy notes of the lemongrass. There’s a floral undertone with is nice too, and compliments the lemongrass well. It’s not as light as a lot of the “fruitier” teas from Deb I’ve tried, but it’s not intense either. Not really a pudding, in my opinion – but a tasty Thai inspired flavour combination!
I’m usually great at eyeballing tea leaf or matcha measurements when making myself a tea, so when I went to make myself this matcha today in freshly washed mug I figured that was what I would do. Why spend the time hunting in the office for a good matcha spoon when my eyes are almost just as good, right? Except, the second I went to pour out a small amount of matcha from the sample but it just dumped out waaayyyyy too much. Like, more than a tablespoon worth of this unsweetened matcha in a 12 oz mug…
And because the mug was newly washed it essentially all got wet and then was no back peddling on the amount of matcha I was using. Now, y’all know me pretty well. I am basically incapable of throwing out tea, so I buckled down for what I knew was going to be an INTENSE cup of matcha. I was not wrong. This basically became koicha.
Honestly, for as brutally strong as it was the taste of the matcha itself wasn’t bad. It’s a nice, smooth and creamy matcha base that Adagio is using. However, cinnamon apple!? Not a chance – I didn’t even get a hint of either of those flavours, which was certainly a little disappointing.
Surprise! One last Halloween tea sneaking into the lineup for October…
So, “blue lattes” and “blue matcha” are definitely kind of a thing – usually just straight butterfly pea flower powder or spirulina powder, which is kind of gnarly tasting on its own. So, it’s honestly surprising that we’re only just now launching this seemingly quintessential blue matcha. I think we’ve done it in a fun way, though!
I’ll be honest, I don’t love this tea straight, especially hot – it has a kind of thin general fruitiness to it with hints of ginger and matcha. However, as a latte!? Well, total game changer. I especially like it as an iced latte! It turns a nice deep blue that reminds me of the blue milk from Star Wars, and the longer you take to drink it the richer the blue colour becomes as the small butterfly pea flower particles in the tea slowly begin to steep out in the suspension.
The taste gets better with milk in my opinion too. It’s still a bit generic tasting in terms of its fruitiness, but it definitely leans more berry with some blue raspberry/acai/blackberry flavours all in the general jumble. I don’t get as much ginger, which I’m personally thankful for. However, with the added creaminess of milk or a milk alternative it reminds in a super nostalgic way of fruity cereal milk enjoyed on Saturday mornings. I love this kind of Halloween twist on a sort of nostalgic flavour.
You probably wont catch me having this one hot and straight any time soon, but those iced lattes… Just delicious!

Made this one earlier this week because I just had one of those nagging cravings that wouldn’t go away. There’s a little bit of a fondant—like thick and starchy quality to the cream/vanilla flavouring used in this blend and that’s not a taste that I normally enjoy in teas, but in this one I feel like it’s kind of expected/supposed to be there because of the “buttercream” element and the lavender is really well balanced, in my opinion. It was really smooth and I enjoyed slowly sipping at my mug for quite some time the afternoon I steeped this up.

Cold Brew!
This tea tastes so much of stevia, but it also has the most perfect syrupy sweet lemon and hibiscus combination that really, truly equates to such a perfect commercial pink lemonade flavour. Like, I can taste the frozen canned juice concentrate as I taste this tea and it reminds me of my childhood. I feel like I sort of go back and forth on if I like this tea because it is a lot in terms of major flavour punch… but when it’s right it’s right.

Way more emphasis on the cherry than the almond in this cup, which was a little like drinking a flat and hot sour cherry soda. That might sound kind of gross, but I promise I only mean it in the best of ways. It was super flavourful and really punchy and pleasant.
I still don’t have any oat milk in the house but this blend has been continually growing on me as I’ve had it hot, so I’ve decided to just push on and finish it off as a hot tea. This cup was particularly blueberry forward with a buttery undertone and nice hint of cinnamon. Brisk, flavourful, and starting to feel very familiar and cozy. One more cup to go…
Cold Brew!
Once strained I mixed this cold brew with a ginger beer, which made for a nice sweet and zests bright orange flavour with a bit of a spicy kick to the finish and the nice smoky green mate notes coming through in the finish. I liked it a lot prepared this way; it was a nice fun spin on this more simple (but strong) blend!
Sipdown (1453)!
This was a freebie sample from my last order. It’s not something I probably would have ordered for myself, because of the base tea, which kind of makes it the perfect freebie. I love being challenged in my preferences! The dry leaf aroma was kind of off putting to me; the orange had an almost chalky kind of smell to it that reminded me of children’s chewable vitamins. However, it didn’t translate into the cup at all and the result was a miedum bodied and smooth infusion of sweet orange with a tropcical leaning undertone. Simple, but effective in communicating that “Mai Tai” flavour profile, and I did enjoy it.
