Backlog. I’ve gone through most of the box already, it’s nice to have an easy tea on hand for right before bed or when I’m feeling lazy :) The last couple cups I just left the bag in, but I don’t care for it as much that way.

drank Cacao Tea by Herbal Infusions

Backlog. So… I didn’t pay attention to the fact that it’s a DARK chocolate (I’m a milk chocolate girl), but I actually kind of liked it anyway. Although it was frustrating for this newbie to not have steeping instructions (couldn’t find any on the sample package or the website). I ended up comparing the details of a couple tasting notes for reference, so I may have done it wrong.

drank Vanilla Comoro by Harney & Sons

I tried my sample of this tea for the first time last night. I think I like it?? It smells amazing, but I didn’t taste as much vanilla as the smell had me anticipating, and to me it had a strong “tea” taste (yes, I know it IS tea and thus the tea taste. Trying to become a tea drinker, but I’m not there yet!). I’ll definitely try it again, but less than 16 oz. next time… baby steps :)

Catching up on previous cups.
I headed into Teavana on a whim while I was at the mall and decided to look for something to replace hot chocolate for the winter because I don’t handle sugar well and I’m low-carbing. I really like this! I normally prefer milk chocolate to white chocolate, but the white chocolate goes really well with the peppermint and to me it’s a good balance of minty and sweet, though I could do without the oily film it gets on top from the melted chocolate.

Now that I’ve gotten samples of tea from other companies though, I kinda hate the big chunks of “stuff” in this one… I feel like it makes the ounces add up quickly but then doesn’t make very much? Will have to pay more attention to how many cups I get out of it next time. I’ll probably always have a soft spot for this since it’s the one that got me started on my tea journey!

Well, I should’ve known better since I really don’t like spiced teas (chai, etc.) but gingerbread sounded yummy and Christmas-y and it seemed like a lot of people like it. I double-bagged per other Steepster peeps’ recommendations, but it was just a super strong mouthful of spices, I didn’t get any creaminess or sweetness at all. Took a few sips & poured it down the drain.

I probably won’t give this another try since I think it’s just flavors I don’t really care for. Apparently I haven’t had very much gingerbread in my lifetime? Tried a ginger snap yesterday and didn’t really care for it, I guess my tastebuds were expecting something more like pumpkin spice, which I absolutely love. So if anyone knows of a good caffeine-free pumpkin spice tea or tisane, please let me know!

I hate ‘spiced’ teas too but then I don’t like the spices involved generally (ginger, cinnamon, cardamom). Good luck.

Yay, my very first Steepster tasting note! I was surprised when john12 recommended this tea, I guess I just assumed Steepster was mainly loose leaf? Anyway, picked this up from the grocery store and I have enjoyed a couple cups of it so far. It has a nice peppermint taste that’s sweet but not too sweet. Followed the steeping instructions on the box the first couple times, but today just left the bag in the cup while I drank it. Definitely need to get more before it disappears until next year!

Yay! Congrats on your first tasting note. Looking forward to all the more that come.

I am fond of the sugar cookie herbal of this brand.

I spend an obscene amount of time reading and researching topics I’m interested in, and I have a tendency to lurk much more than I comment, but I’m thrilled to be a part of the Steepster community! As for teas, I don’t handle caffeine well so it’s herbals/tisanes or decaf for me. Also, I can’t seem to develop an appreciation for black tea, green tea, chai, or spiced teas. And I can’t stand anything that tastes like licorice. (wow… picky much?!)
