278 Tasting Notes
Thank you JustJames for sending me a sample of this wonderful tea. I probably wouldn’t have had a chance to try this otherwise.
When I looked at the leaves in my infuser I didn’t know what to expect. My first cup of this went pretty quick, so I decided to make a second cup of it and pay more attention to the flavours. This is a very soft and delicate tasting tea. Gentle and pleasing in both aroma and flavour. I don’t usually enjoy floral tea’s but here the rose is mild and mellow. Perfect for a quiet moment out of a hectic schedule.
This was my choice of tea in the afternoon. I’m not sure why I purchased it, because I’m not the greatest fan of ginger, but decided to give it a try anyway.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this tea. The ginger is present and provides a nice spice without over-powering the pu’er. This is a nicely balanced tea.
I had this is in the morning, and it was perfect. Strong and malty – just what I needed for the chilly morning.
The first steep was a deep red colour, nothing like the photo. I was a little worried that I brewed it too long, but I preferred the stronger taste of the first steep. The second steep was ok and the colour was more like the photo.
Thank you Dexter3657 for sending this my way. I liked this quite a lot.
I got this a long time ago from AureliaFish, who hasen’t been around for a while – but thank you for sending me this!
I was really reluctant to try this ‘cos I wasn’t sure what it would taste like straight up, no flavours (and I was kinda afraid it would not be good). I kept putting it off and I just couldn’t bring myself to try it. Until today. Well, knock me over with a feather…this tastes Really Good! It has a natural sweet hay flavour. Not grassy. Just plain sweet hay.
When I order from Butiki, I will definitely be getting this.
The first time I tried this I did not like it. The second time I tried it I loved it and hoarded the last piece. Today I’m on the fence.
The brew is dark with a strong rice aroma. I just finished the third steep and the sticky rice flavour is still present and quite strong. I’ll keep steeping until the taste weakens.
A possible re-stock when I next visit Tao’s shop.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve logged a tasting note. I thought that staying away would curb my tea buying, but that approach didn’t really work for me.
I got this tea from Dexter3657. I really enjoyed this cuppa. Yesterday when I drank I found the sweet potato in the early sipping, and plum and honey after.
Today I got sweet potato and honey. No plum. Don’t know what I did differently…Either way a tasty tea.
Thank you Dexter!
