I just tried this plain for the first time and it was pretty good. It’s flavorful but not too strong.
16 Tasting Notes
Whoa, I was not expecting such an overwhelming scent. It smelled like smoked paprika or even a cured meat. Maybe it would have been better if it was lighter. The barista put way too much tea in the tea bag. It looked like more than 1/3 cup.
This was unexpectedly light and very floral. Its a nice tasting tea but didn’t satisfy my craving for Oolong. I guess I was looking for a darker Oolong.
My SO’s aunt said this is one of her favorite teas so I’ve been wanting to try it. I got a cup at Tom n Tom’s and I loved it! It has such a great flavor. It’s perfect all on its own, without cream or sugar. Its really clean, not too strong or too mild and definitely not bitter or astringent.
Looks cool. Leaves range in color from dark green to off-white. Smells and tastes kind of like oolong but more vegetal, like a sencha. Very good.
Has a little bit of a green vegetable flavor, like the stalk of an artichoke maybe but pretty mild.
This stuff smells sooo good. I like the taste too. It’s a basic oolong flavor covered by a sweet muscat grape aroma. Like any other flavored tea though, I get sick of it if I drink it too often. It’s given me cravings for plain oolong actually.
This stuff kept me awake after lunch when I worked 9-5. My dad recommended adding lemon because it boosts green tea’s energizing effect. It could be true or it could have been a placebo effect, either way it worked for me. I did read a study that found that citrus helps your body retain the antioxidants (catechins) in green tea.
I haven’t been interested in Genmaicha lately and forgot how great it smells! This one is very aromatic. I love that warm, soothing roasted rice smell. It tastes ok but the green tea flavor is too light for me.
Smells a bit sweet and tastes almost sweet. It’s very light and slightly astringent.
Very dehydrating and left a bad taste in my mouth.
Smooth and sweet tropical scent. Fruity. Very light on the green tea flavor. A bit dehydrating.
Very light, smooth and not bitter. Great for a light green tea but I prefer something more flavorful.
I bought a box of this at Whole Foods after reading some good reviews in a few anxiety forums. I’ve been having terrible anxiety lately and this stuff is a blessing. Basically, it puts me to sleep. It does have a strong smell but it’s not really a bad smell. It mostly just smells like cinnamon and ginger.
I was trying to wean myself off coffee and everyone at Adagio was raving that this was a great coffee alternative. I’ve tried Yerba Mate before and didn’t really notice any energizing effect but thought I’d give it another shot. It tastes pretty good but it’s definitely not a coffee replacement, for me at least. My SO, on the other hand, got a caffeine-like buzz after drinking it.
Tastes really good. Very flavorful. It has that strong green tea flavor. Kind of like seaweed but not fishy or salty. And not bitter either. I just wish they wouldn’t keep their teas out in glass jars.
