Maple Blueberry Tea from The Metropolitan Tea Company

A review of Maple Blueberry Tea by Metropolitan Tea Company, Ltd

Company: The Metropolitan Tea Company
Tea Name: Maple Blueberry Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: black
Region: India
Steeping Vessel/Amt Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Liquor Color: reddish
Leaf Characteristic:

  1. Steeping:

1st Steeping:
Water Temp: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes
I like this tea for its wonderful aroma. I use one tea bag and placing this in my cup I add in the boiled water and leaving it to steep for several minutes. This tea brews a very bright liquor and the teas’ aroma is that of maple; providing for headiness in the maple and syrupy when tasted.

2nd Steeping:
Water Temp: 200
Time: 3 minutes
My second cup of tea is similarly the same with a lessening in the taste for the maple and tea is still very bright reddish color; like wine almost. I taste more of the maple than the blueberry since I am not one to consume blueberry I don’t anything to compare it to.

Overall tasting notes: This is a wonderful tea that is easily blended with the maple and blueberry making for a good cup of tea. Tea is naturally sweet with not a need for anything else.

Classification: Year, and region of production; Product of India

Cup’s characteristic: sweet, smooth with a good body and blends very well with the maple and blueberry

Liquor color: bright reddish brown

Taste: tea taste sweetly; naturally sweetened with the maple

I sip this tea throughout the day by simply adding more water into my cup and letting it steep for a short time and when I feel there is not taste in the cup, I add another tea bag and continue as before.

I dissolve one of the bags in my cup and add in the boiled water, stirring it very well until all contents has dissolved. I notice that the liquor is liken to honey and smells sweetly and when I sip of the tea it is indeed sweet and honey like.

Something about drinking this tea makes me think of Chamomile tea with lemon added in it. Since buying this tea from Chinatown, I try to have it every few days but then I stopped because I wanted to have more time with the tea and not finish it at once.

Steeping Vessel/Amt Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Liquor Color: dark green herbal
Leaf Characteristic:

  1. Steeping:

1st Steeping:
Water Temp: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

I like steeping this tea very hot and drinking it as hot as I can tolerate it. I take one of the tea bags and put this in my mug and add the boiling water over the tea bag and I leave it to steep for a good five minutes plus.

The tea has a very strong aroma of herbs…like being out back in the garden while it is steaming hot and one can smell the sweetness in the grassy mixtures of the different herbs/plants that is growing. It is a heady and sweet smelling. When I sip of the tea it is indeed sweet and nothing astringent about this tea.

I sip the tea slowly since it is very hot and enjoy the tea’s warmth as it glides down my throat and breathing out after each swallow. It is a good cup of tea.

Overall tasting notes: This tea makes me think of licorice but not as sweetly and of dark leafy herbs with hints of ginseng since there is a slight acidic base to it. It is most mild.

Classification: Year, and region of production;(2010)Product of China

DeDe Instant Thai Tea with Cream /Sugar from DeDe

A review of Instant Thai Tea (with cream and sugar) by NR Instant Produce Co, LTD

Company: NR Instant Produce Co, LTD
Tea Name: Instant Thai Tea (with cream and sugar)
Tea Type/Varietal: powdered Thai tea
Region: Thailand
Steeping Vessel/Amt Leaf: cup/ 1 tea bag of Thai tea
Liquor Color: Orange cream

  1. Steeping:

1st Steeping:
Water Temp: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 1 minute

I had refrained from having this for weeks now it seems. When I first received it, I was fixing it as my daily drink for breakfast or as my mid-day drink, and then I stopped having it and went back to having green teas or such. This morning, however, I reached for one of the Thai Tea pouch and tore open the bag, emptying the contents in my cup and adding the boiled water to my cup while stirring it briskly at first then a bit sturdier and faster until the content dissolved. Teas’ aroma is that of cream sickles or orange cream and when sipping of the tea, it is smooth and sweet.

This tea is really a wonderful breakfast or anytime of day fixture to help get you through the day.

Overall tasting notes: The tea is wonderfully rich and smooth; like a fruity shake without all of the fuss since all that is needed is the tea packet’s content and some freshly boiled (or cold) water depending on preference. I enjoy this tea very hot since the smell of the creamy and milky froth adds delight to my morning.

Classification: Year, and region of production; Product of Thailand

Cup’s characteristic: rich and creamy cup of Thai Tea favoring that of orange flavored ice-cream but warm.

Liquor color: orange cream

Taste: rich and smooth with an overall creamy texture

China Green Tea by Korica from Korica

A review of Bamboo tea mixed with China Green Tea by Korica

Company: Korica
Tea Name: China Green Tea and 1 tea bag of Bamboo Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: Green
Region: China
Steeping Vessel/Amt Leaf: cup/ tea bags
Liquor Color: golden brown
Leaf Characteristic:

  1. Steeping:

1st Steeping:
Water Temp: 200
Time: 3 minutes
I drink tea daily but I don’t always feel like recording them of late. I am not sure (I am easily bothered with all things around me of late; as the madness is worsening for me). I am angry at the world to tell the truth. So I am problematic and possibly dangerous since I am admitting as much.

I took two tea bags of the China Green Tea and one tea bag of the Bamboo tea and put this in my cup and I poured in the boiled water into my cup and leaving it to steep for few minutes.

Tea colors to a dark golden brown and smells strongly of green tea. When I sip of the tea it is strongly astringent with mild hints of the bamboo in the back ground. How to describe the taste of the tea? It matches my mood which is one of anger and unhappiness so a cup of bitter tea is what is needed to match this reviewer’s tea palette.

I have been drinking this throughout the day by simply adding more hot water into my cup and with more infusions the tea is not as bitter as first cup.

Overall tasting notes: strong green tea

Classification: Year, and region of production; Product of China

Cup’s characteristic: green tea with some bamboo tea

Liquor color: golden brown

Taste: A bitterness that lessen with more infusions.

I am having this new dietary tea as part of my night time ritual since I cannot seem to get rid of the pounds. Try as I may, the pounds stay on. I did as instructed on the side of the tea box; to steep on tea bag in a cup of boiled water for five minutes.

Tea is dark reddish brown with an herbal like aroma and when tasting of the tea it is mildly sweet. When ever I drink this type of tea; I am reminded of a malted type brew but only it is tea and more like herbal tea.

I continue to enjoy this tea hotly as it is helping me to relax.

I purchased this tea during a visit to Chinatown in Boston, MA. I had not been there in a long while and I was happy to visit this store that I used to frequent at least once a week when much younger as I was able to visit the city daily. I worked in the city and getting around to different parts of it was easier.

The water having boiled, I let cool a bit; I take the tea bag and tear it open and pouring its content in my cup. I add in the boiled water and stirring the mixture until the granules have all dissolved. What I am left with is a frothy drink that is a dark reddish color (amber/malt in taste & flavoring).

Tea’s aroma is very sweet with an earthy tone; it smells of herbs and when I sip of the tea it is creamy, smooth and sweetly cup of herbal tea.

This tea is part of a series of tea that I purchased while visiting Chinatown in Boston the other day. I had not been there in the longest while. Anyhow, I ended up purchasing several of their teas and forgot to buy some Oolong teas. I will have to plan another visit.

For now I have teas like this one to enjoy. This tea comes individually pack sachet and I take one and empty its content into my cup and add in the boiled water and the granules dissolve at one. I stir it just a bit more and I have a lovely froth in my cup; kind of like beer foam since the tea’s color is a dark brown-sugary-malt brew. When I sip of this tea it is very sweet and warm. I want to say it sort of taste like ginger tea or ginseng to be more exact.

This is another wonderful tea for me to keep in the cupboard and I hope to one day feel the teas many health benefits. For now, to simply enjoy this tea is enough.

Chamomile & Anise Tea by Badia from Badia Spices, Inc.

A review of Chamomile & Anise Tea by Badia Spices Inc.

Company: Badia Spices, Inc
Tea Name: Chamomile & Anise
Tea Type/Varietal: Herbal
Region: Asia / Mediterranean
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Liquor Color: light yellow
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

I purchased this tea at a newly visited grocery store. It is one we had seen but not actually shopped in. I found their teas to be very inexpensive so I grab a few and put them in the grocery cart.

I steeped this tea for fives minutes with boiled water added into my cup with tea bag in it. The tea is a lovely yellow color and when steeped longer, the tea darkens to a yellow brown coloring. The aroma is that of the Anise with the chamomile lingering on. When I sip of the tea, I taste the anise which is very spicy. I want to say not unlike the taste of ginger since it has that zing to it and the chamomile is there to absorb, making it somber/smoother; to soften the peppery effect of the anise.

In all this tea is to help with digestion as it helps to relax the stomach. The tea has a fresh sweet taste of licorice and cloves with a mildly pungent finish…which I describe as having zest or good kick like when ginger is added in.

I would buy this tea again.

I reached for a cup of this tea just because I wanted to something comparable to maple syrup; well maple flavoring without the pancakes.

With one tea bag and adding in the boiled water and left to steep for a few minutes I am able to enjoy this tea. It is nicely hot with the maple flavoring delivering all of the right notes in aroma which is nicely sweet and woodsy like.

There is something to be said when sipping of this tea; that one cannot help but think of the great outdoors and being surrounded by maple trees and sugar fields.

This is a lovely tea!

I fixed this tea as my morning cup of tea whilst heading out of door for the day. It was quick and easy to make. I tend to think tea bags are easiest for fixing especially when one is hurried.

The tea was nicely hot as I took several sips and the lemongrass was ideal in that it added quite a zest to my cup and lightens my spirit for a short while.

I recommend this tea because it does have wonderful benefits with usage over time, I imagine. This tea is something that I will try to continue to use.
