Hand Picked Summer Tieguanyin from Verdant Tea
100

A review of Hand Picked Summer Tieguanyin by Verdant Tea

Date: 11/09/2012
Company: Verdant Tea
Tea Name: Hand Picked Summer Tieguanyin
Tea Type/Varietal: Oolong
Region: China
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ loose leaf
Plucking Season: Summer
Liquor Color: a very pale yellow
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 1 minutes, increased to 2, 3 minutes

Note: I take 1 teaspoon of the leaves and put this in my mug and pour the hot water over it and let sit for a few seconds so as to rinse it, after which time I empty the cup of the water and pour some more of the boiled water into my mug yet again; this time leaving it to steep for a minute.

Tea is a lovely light yellow and smells very milky too me. I had to keep inhaling it just to be certain it smelled of milk, kind of creamy buttery even. I remove the tea leaves and take a few sip of the tea; at first it is buttery in taste, slight salty flavor, then one is met with a smooth cream-like finishing when swallowing the tea.

I liked that I used my large tea mug as the leaves did fully burst/plump with multiple steeping.

2nd Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

Note: For this next infusion, I pour the water over the tea leaves and cover my mug with saucer and left to steep for a few minutes. The color is same and yes, that milky-ness is still there and this time it is like almond and sweet bean as an after taste…tea is sweet and smooth there is no denying of this and there is something of a summer breeze that one feels; this morning the air was clear and crisp inviting one to go out for an early morning walk but I chose not to. This is perhaps why I selected it for a mid-day treat.

This is one of the better oolong I have had all because of the milky and almond-bean like quality that I am finding. Overall, tea is very light and a textural challenge making for more exploration.

Matcha Tea Powder by hamasaen from Hamasaen Co., LTD.
86

A review of Green Tea Powder by Hamasaen

Date: 11/09/2012
Company: Hamasaen
Tea Name: Green Tea Powser
Tea Type/ Green tea powder
Region: Japan
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ teaspoon
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: a very bright green
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 180 Fahrenheit
Time: 1 – 3 minutes

Note: I woke up this morning wanting for a cup of Matcha and I reached for this Green Tea Powder that I have had and enjoyed. So nothing newly; I simply take a teaspoon of the green powder and put in a tea cup and I pour the boiled water into the cup and begin stirring it until all the tea powder has dissolved. I am always amazed at how green the tea is and smells strongly of the sea…seaweed like or marine algae. When I sip it, a nice light tinge in on my palate upon swallowing the tea and I take another sip and another until the tea is gone.

In recent past I have tried both the matcha teas and this green tea powder cold and hot; I find I prefer them hot and this is because of the warmth that comes with holding a hot cup of tea in your hand; as this makes you want to hug it or hold it tighter; whereas if it is cold you simply want to be done with it and put it away.

Green Tea with Peppermint from AKBAR
57

A review of Green Tea with Peppermint by Akbar

I had purchased this tea during one of my impromptu store visits at a grocers in Brookline, MA; Bazaar Gourmet Royal Delicacies. When I reviewed this tea, I remember not liking the tea since I found the mixture of spearmint and peppermint to be too strong and evasive. I said it was like a toothpaste kind of freshness.

Anyhow, since moving and residing in where there is always perpetual dust and musty odor in the air, I have been placing the tea bags in groupings like sachets to use them as air freshener of sort. For months I have been doing this and the heady aroma of the peppermint with spearmint is still very noticeable.

Last evening, I took one of tea bags from a cup that I had a bunch of tea bags in and put this is my tea mug and poured very hot water over the tea bag and left to steep for several minutes. The tea’s color is golden brown and tea’s aroma is very fresh smelling and sweet. And when tasted, sip after sip it is a lively clean taste that is both refreshing to the palette and a delight to the nostril.

This tea makes me think of that after dinner mint or first thing in the morning for wanting fresh breath and off gum chewing.

I guess what I am saying is: if one is wanting for a refreshing cup of tea with effect for gum chewing than this is the tea for you since it has that fresh breath quality to it.

Rosehip Herb Tea from Garden of the Andes
83

A review of 100% Organic Rosehip Herb Tea by Garden of the Andes

Date: 11/08/2012
Company: Garden of the Andes
Tea Name: Rosehip Herb Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: Herbal
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup / tea bag
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: Inviting rose with pinkish hues
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

Note: I pour boiling water over one tea bag that is in my cup and left to steep for a few minutes. Teas’ aroma is a lovely floral bouquet of hibiscus and rose hip and when I am finally having a sip of this tea I am met with a citrus flavor that is balance of the hibiscus herb plant and of that of the Rosehip fruits.

This tea has no Chamomile but it does have the soothing aspect of a cup of Chamomile tea with lemon. It is most soothing and relaxing as I try to make dinner and await the onslaught of unpleasantness that is in my life right now. I live always at the expense of another; having no control over my emotions; an example is the typing of these words to indicate as much; when there need not be a mentioning.

I am grateful always for that cup of warmth that is to be found in the taking of tea/having tea.

Xingyang 2007 Shu Pu’er from Verdant Tea
84

review of Xingyang 2007 Shu Pu’er by Verdant Tea

Date: 11/08/2012
Company: Verdant Tea
Tea Name: Xingyang 2007 Shu Pu’er
Tea Type/Varietal: pu erh
Region: Simao, Yunnan, China
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf:
Plucking Season: May 11, 2007
Liquor Color: reddish brown, cinnamon
Leaf Characteristics: Xingyang Tea Co Pu’er KH9200, small leaf and bud mixture

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 180 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

Note: I don’t have fancy instruments for fixing this pu-erh. I opened the pouch sample and took one teaspoon of the tea and put it in my cup, adding the boiling water to it, I let it steep for several minutes.

I am always taken in by tea’s color and aroma in that I know if it is something that I will enjoy and indeed this would be the case with this pu-erh. It is a lovely reddish brown cinnamon color and I want to say more like stewed raisins or prunes when tasting of this tea. First sip is textural aspect of moisture/dampness reminding me of raw earthy wet ground and as I take in more of the tea I find sweet, savory, and distinctly warm sensation to ground the tea. I get a wonderful sea-salted caramel flavor on my palate with an earthy-sweet aftertaste.

It is good with multiple steeping; I simply add more water to my cup and let it sit, enjoying the tea hot always. I would say for me this tea is reminiscent of a cup of raisins/stewed prunes with the second steep and third being more-so. First steep is too musty and dampness in the taste to truly enjoy the tea.

It is an enjoyable pu-erh.

Yunnan White Jasmine from Verdant Tea
82

A review of Yunnan White Jasmine Tea by Verdant Tea

Date: 11/08/2012
Company: Verdant Tea
Tea Name: Yunnan White Jasmine
Tea Type/ White
Region: Taiwan
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ loose leaf
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: a very light floral tea shies of yellow
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 170 Fahrenheit
Time: 2 minutes

Note: I have less than a teaspoon of this tea left and I thought to finish this off this morning since it snowed overnight. I figure, why not have some white tea?

I find this is a good amount to steep in a small cup since there is so little of the tea’s mixture. When steeped for two minutes the tea’s color is very light but not clear. I say a soft yellow since the pods like leaves were still in my cup and the teas’ aroma is still fully of jasmine in scent but not overpowering.

This tea is described as being silky and smooth: (that of the white Yunnan tea) with notes of cinnamon sweetness and the heady aroma of the jasmine permeates the air. And this combination helps us to understand what jasmine is all about.

The result is a perfectly integrated flavor that starts off with the textures of a white tea, and sweetness drawn out and extended by a silky jasmine aroma.

Fennel Tea from Alvita
92

A review of Fennel Seed Tea by Alvita

Date: 11/07/2012
Company: Alvita
Tea Name: Fennel Seed
Tea Type/ Herbal
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: clear broth like
Leaf Characteristics: I like the smell that comes from this tea bag, it is like onions and dill or pickle juice since I have had this tea before. I know what to expect and it is most pleasant.

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

Note: I have enjoyed this tea quite a bit and it is not from doing anything differently. I take one tea bag in a cup and add the boiling water to my cup and left to steep for a few minutes. The teas’ color is very light, like a mild broth when it is first brewing. It smells of the fennel seed and I refer to this smell as dill-like or pickle juice or a very mild onion soup but this is pushing it.

Were I incline I could use this when cooking with onion and celery to add a dash of this fennel seed tea to what I am making. No, I have not tried it as such. I have simply made nicely cup of hot tea to sip and sip while thinking of pickled juice.

I am silly and depressed since nothing that I do is noticed. I am always the one on wrong side of things and my side adds to a big zero and this is perhaps due to not holding employment as father-in-law was kind in reminding me. “You are annoying; you want to talk about annoying…etc.” Quotes do not have to do with tea review.

Arabian Night Green Tea Flavoured (sampler) by Zen Tea from Zen Tea
88

A review of Arabian Night Green Tea Flavoured by Zen Tea

Date: 11/ 07/2012
Company: Zen Tea
Tea Name: Arabian Night Green Tea
Tea Type/ Green
Region: China
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ loose leaf
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: light amber
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 195 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

Note: I selected this tea this morning since I wanted something very fruity and exotic. While fixing a cup of tea before my husband’s departure for work, I asked him to sniff the aroma of the tea and he said very interesting. I said: does it make you think of pineapples? He nodded.

I place 1 teaspoon of this tea in a tea mug and pour in the boiling water and left to steep for few minutes. I waited for the tea leaves to settle at cups bottom since I did not wish to remove the leaves for this fixing.

I know that this tea is comprised of Jasmine, sunflower and rose but somehow this morning in particular it is making me think and smell of pineapples. As I sip and sip this tea, I get the rosy scent but not of jasmine but of pineapples instead. I am noticing the citrusy aspect of this tea and it is wonderful. I am having this tea very hot with leaves settling at the bottom of my cup and I plan to on having this tea for most of the early morning by simply pouring more hot water into my cup.

Overall, this is a lovely tea, if not for early morning than it would make a fine afternoon to re-awaken the senses that might be dulling by mid-day.

Shui Xian Wuyi Oolong from Verdant Tea
94

A review of Shui Xian Wuyi Oolong by Verdant Tea

Date: 11/06/2012
Company: Verdant Tea
Tea Name: Shui Xian Wuyi Oolong
Tea Type Oolong
Region: Taiwan
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf:
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: peach with a blush
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes
Note: I am finishing the remains of this Shui Xian Wuyi Oolong. I have a teaspoon of it left and so I pour the warmly boiled water over it. And the aroma as the cup steamed is like milk simmering with vanilla pods; the essence is there with that caramelizing effect towing along. The tea’s color makes me think of peaches with a blush; it is that amber color but not darken.

When I taste this oolong it is heaven. I am reminded of the Chai that I had enjoyed earlier this morning and perhaps that is why I have reached for this tea. It has many folds; there is that buttery sweet flavor left on the palette and that of fresh cinnamon…sprinkles of cinnamon over banana to be exact, but unfortunately I don’t get this.

I know this is one of the better tasting oolongs that I have had, as there have not been any that I did not like. I do remember vaguely one Apple Wuyi Oolong tea that I had purchased and I could never discern the apple, for it had no crispness, tart/sweetness at all. It was oolong tea and yet very mild and they were tea bags as opposed to loose leaf tea.

Organic Masala Chai from David Rio Fine Teas
89

A review of Organic Masala Chai Tea by David Rio

Date: 11/06/2012
Company: David Rio
Tea Name: Organic Masala Chai
Tea Type/ Chai
Region: India
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ fine powder
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: warm caramel
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

Note: I wanted a cup of this spice milky tea today since I was thinking for having a cup of cacao, purely. I took one teaspoon of the sweetly fine powder and add this in my mug and pour the very hot water and stir and stirred until the granules were evenly blended /disappearing in my cup.

I sip and sip this tea which is so warm and sweet. All the warm, spicy sweet flavors of traditional masala chai are in this blend that I have fixed for myself: there is the cinnamon, ginger and clove vying for attention with the cardamom seemingly in the background cloying at my taste buds.

This tea is such a delight on this very cold day and I feel somewhat secured while holding this cup of warmth in my hand. I am sorry as I finish this chai and so to passes the moment of having obtained creature comfort/ bliss even, if only for a few moments.

There will have to be another time then, since there is more of this chai in its tin.

Slimming Special Herbal Tea from Triple Leaf Tea
79

A review of Slimming Special Herbal Tea by Triple Leaf

Date: 11/05/2012
Company: Triple Leaf Brand
Tea Name: Slimming Special Herbal Tea
Tea Type/ Herbal
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color:
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

Note: I like to have this tea (all my herbal teas strongly) so infusion is longest of steeping for 5 minutes or more and this makes the tea very dark in color and smelling strongly of herbals like the Senna leaf, dandelion, licorice root and persimmon leaf making this tea a sweeter brew.

I brew this tea so strongly and that it is darken-cloudy mush in my mug and when tasted, tea is very hot and good; I like how the persimmon and licorice play nicely together; this tea is wonderful because it has no bitterness at all.

As this was my ending cup of tea for the day, it was very welcoming cup of tea.

A review of Green Tea by Price Chopper

Date: 11/04/2012
Company: Price Chopper
Tea Name: Green Tea
Tea Type/ Green
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup / tea bag
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: light green, actually more like the color of honey.
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 2 minutes

Note: I use one tea bag in my cup and pour the hot water over the tea bag and leaving it to steep for 3 minutes. I remove the tea bag and take in the tea’s aroma which is very subtle and fresh. And the tea’s color is that of honey. Since the tea leaves are steamed and not fermented the taste is fresher, a refreshing drink that is delicate and clean; making for a very astringent cup of the freshest of green teas.

Rosehip Herb Tea from Garden of the Andes

A review of 100% Organic Rosehip Herb Tea by Garden of the Andes

Date: 11/04/2012
Company: Garden of the Andes
Tea Name: 100% Organic Rosehip Herb Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: Herbal
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: light red / plumeria
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 4 minutes

Note: This is a lovely tea to have when one is feeling lull, drained with no energy. It is similar to Rooibos tea but not as strong.

I take the tea bag and put this in my cup and I pour the boiling water into my cup and left to steep for five minutes. The air is filled with the scent that is hibiscus and rosehip and this makes for a floral bouquet. Teas’ color is pinkish at first and when held under the light it is like plumeria with specs of rosehips.

Tea taste tangy and refreshing with a citrus undertone. This tea has high concentration of Vitamin C because of the hibiscus plant; providing also good source of calcium and riboflavin, all things that are good for the bones/joints, to obtaining maximum energy and support.

I mean that this tea makes you want to get up and do something; or to be contemplative about doing something.

Herbal Laxative by Triple Leaf Tea from Triple Leaf Tea

A review of Herbal Laxative by Triple Leaf Tea

Date: 11/03/2012
Company: Triple Leaf Tea
Tea Name: Herbal Laxative Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: herbal
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: Cup/ tea bag
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: darkish red/amber at times like muddy water since brewed for more than five minutes.
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes +

Note: I steep this tea only once since it is my nightly cup of tea. I take one tea bag and place this in my cup and pour the hot water over it and leaving it to steep for close to ten minutes since it states: “for stronger flavor and effect, steep longer.”

Teas’ aroma is very sweet of the licorice root, dandelion, mulberry and ginger. This all lingers in the air. When tasted it is more of the licorice root and ginger that I taste.

In all I drink this tea for the benefit that is offered to aid me in ridding of excess waste. To be detoxified and clean that is helpful to the body’s normal process. I drink this tea because at times it is a good thing to do.

100% Natural Green tea from Demoulas Super Markets Inc.

Company: Market Basket
Tea Name: 100% Natural Green Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: Green
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf:
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: a very light green
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 2 minutes

Note: I have not had this green tea brand in a very long while since we have not shopped at Market Basket. Anyhow, we did stop in to purchase a few items and I selected this tea once again. I always say that store employees are not nice to me when there; but I say this of many folks; so I am not to be believed.

I take on tea bag and put this in my cup and fill tea cup with boiling water, steep for two minutes. This tea is one of the more enjoyable cup of green tea that one can have in a tea bag. The color is a very light green or light brown to some and smells strongly of grass and very astringent in that it has a fresh, clean taste; reminiscent of early morning dew on the leaves of trees outside.

I always enjoy this tea for what it is worth.

Magnolia Oolong (sampler) by Tea Savant from Tea Savant

A review of Magnolia Oolong by Tea Savant

Date: 11/02/2012
Company: Tea Savant
Tea Name: Magnolia Oolong
Tea Type/Varietal: Oolong
Region: Fujian China
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ loose leaves
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: a blushing amber
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings: several good steeps, most impressed with 1st steeping because of the tea’s aroma is surprisingly very pleasant.

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

Note: I had received several samplings of this Magnolia Oolong and I happy to be having a cup of this throughout my day. I take on tea spoon of the rounded petals and place them in my cup and I add the boiling water into my cup and leave to steep for several minutes.

The teas’ aroma is light floral scent. This sweet luxury tea is highly regarded as one of Tea Savant’s finest teas. I remove the tea leaves and continue to enjoy the floral intoxication as I take several quick sips of the tea since it is very hot; I like the complex sweetness paired against a smokey undertone. I simply love, love this tea and I cannot say enough about it. The color is like gold; darken peach, rustic of a blush even.

Tea Savant describes this as “world class tea, enjoy loose leaf, and watch the leaves open in your cup.” It is most impressive oolong I have had and I am grateful for Tea Savant to have sent the many samples for me to enjoy. Thank you for trust, and for making such a great product.

Darjeeling Mim by Pekko Teas from Pekko Teas

A review of Darjeeling Mim by Pekko Teas

Date: 11/01/2012
Company: Pekko Teas
Tea Name: Darjeeling Mim
Tea Type/Varietal: Black
Region: Nothern India
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ loose leaf
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: reddish brown/ liquor red
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

Note: After a night with not much sleeping for me, I decided this morning to have a cup of this Darjeeling Mim Tea since I think I need to wake up and feel energetic and black teas are to do this. I surmise.

I take one teaspoon of the tea leaves and add this in my cup and pour the already boiled water over the leaves, and leave it to steep for five minutes. I remove the tea leaves from my cup and take small sips of the tea which is very flavorful of grapes with a slight drying effect when swallowed. I say slight since I think white wine is dryer than say red or darker reds wine. So the dryness here is mildly, tongue/back of throat kind of dryness.

I have enjoyed sipping this tea throughout the morning. Once again I must thank Pekko Teas for sending this to me.

Overall, this is a tea I have enjoyed. It has a lovely bright red coloring which is very clear and not clouded in the cup. I did not need to hold the tea directly under the light is what I mean. This is a light and flavorful cup of tea, at times complex since tasting of grapes making for a vintage cup of tea.

I mean this is quality tea.

Fong Mong Tea-Taiwan Gaba Tea (strip-like whole leaf) from FONG MONG TEA

A review of Taiwan Gaba Tea by Fong Mong Tea Corp.

Company: Fong Mong Tea Corp.
Tea Name: Taiwan Gaba Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: Green
Region: Taiwan China
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup / loose leaf
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: dark amber
Leaf Characteristics: darkish brown thin leaves

  1. Steepings 2 steeps and both were very nice.

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 180 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

Note: I took one heaping teaspoon of the tea leaves and add to my mug and pour hot water over the leaves and left to steep for five minutes. After which, I removed the tea leaves from my mug and take a sip of this tea finally, since I had this tea for quite sometime and had yet to try and I chose to have this tea last evening prior to retiring for bed. I was hoping for a good nice of rest.

The tea has a lovely aroma in that it smells like cacao leaves, sweet even and when tasted it is smooth and creamy. I have not tasted anything like it. It is really striking. This is very good tea and I have no word to really describe it. Or perhaps I don’t know how to describe.

I was able to have two cups of this tea prior to retiring for the night (last evening). I waited to fall asleep but unfortunately sleep never came. I am somewhat disappointed since I thought this was a tea for sleeping/better sleep. I will continue to try it nightly and see if there is change/different result.

I enjoyed both the aroma and taste of this tea and I can see myself purchasing it because it is an aid to reducing stress and anxiety, and helps with weight loss. I would try this tea again and again only because it taste so very naturally sweet…cacao nibs like.

I Love Lemon from Bigelow

A review of I Love Lemon Herb Tea by Bigelow

Date: 10/31/2012
Company: Bigelow Tea
Tea Name: I love Lemon Herb Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: Herbal
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: Cup/ tea bag
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color:
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

Note: I had my walked today which was not very good. I walked for the sake of it at times. Upon returning I snagged this tea bag from in-laws cupboard. They seem to favor the Bigelow brand. Anyhow, I place the tea bag in my mug and pour water into the cup and placed in microwave for few minutes. After which time, I let the tea sit with the bag still in it for another two minutes.

The tea’s color is lovely golden dew, it is creamy and smooth looking and smells of honey and lemon and when I am sipping this tea I think truly wonderful. The lemon seems just right with the hibiscus and lemongrass weighing in on the forays of flavors and the tea’s aroma is very conducive to the enjoyment of this tea as well.

I had spent the morning sampling loose leaf teas and it is always a comfort to return to tea bags and find one worth the efforts that goes to making and having a cup of tea. Tea bags, needs not much effort.

Straight Tea from Kirin Soft Drink
85

A review of Straight Tea by Kirin

Miso Market is one of my favorite places to shop. I cant’ get there often but on this visit I made sure to stock up. Unfortunately most of what was purchased is nearly gone. I find myself turning to this soft drink by Kirin. It is Straight Tea.

This if fine black tea sweetened just with enough sugar to make it taste like a plum drink. Tea’s color is a lovely amber; gold in fact with a sweet aroma, kind of like fresh honey at a bee’s hive. It taste like sweetness layered with sweetness; there is the malty taste and smoothly cold brew with added sugar. Simply, it is like taking the finest spring water and adding the finest silky sugar to it and mixing it just rightly so. Yum, and there is more to this sweet black tea.

I would buy this again.

A review of Ginger Peach Tea (Single Estate Indian Black) by Teajo Teas

Date: 10/31/2012
Company: Teajo Teas
Tea Name: Ginger Peach Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: Black
Region: Northern India
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: Cup/ loose leaves
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: dark amber
Leaf Characteristics:

  1. Steepings I had enjoyed this tea several weeks earlier and I am selecting to try it once more. And I have had several good steep of this tea. It is lovely caramel in coloring still.

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

Note: I take one teaspoon of this tea and put it in my mug and fill the mug with boiling water and leaving it to steep for a few minutes. I like the gingerly smell that is present, floating around me in the air. I can tell already that I will enjoy this cup best. I remove the tea leaves from my cup in strainer and simply look at tea’s coloring and it is so rich and smooth looking, making me want to sip and sip. Doing just that; I sip once and again until it is all gone. I added nothing to this tea; just water and the leave with mixture of ginger and peach. This tea is satisfying enough to drink as made simply.

When tasted, you are met with the ginger which is spicy and zest like but not of orange and the peach just seems to enhance the flavoring all the more. It is creamy, smooth texture and full bodied with some zest in the cup by way of the ginger bits.

I would not purchase this tea since I am not a black tea drinker by choice/trade. I would recommend it and suiting those favoring their teas with milk or cream/sugar.

Thank you Teajo Teas for allowing me to experience their teas; as it has been like and dislike to be remedied by another, perhaps.

I have decided to fix myself of a cup of Teajo’s Refreshing Orange (Single Estate Indian) Black Tea. I brew myself a cup of this firstly this morning and I am sorry to say although the tea’s color is lovely reddish orange color and tea’s aroma is that of orange peels and a hint of bergamot perhaps. Something about this tea reminds me of some of the Upton Teas I tried a while back. This tea is similarly with an after taste that is similarly to the Scented Darjeeling by Upton Tea and most specific is their English Early Grey Tea by Upton Teas; this taste lingers and is found in the aroma as well and I don’t like it. It is worse than bitter.

I am sorry but I cannot justify liking this tea. I simply cannot. It is not refreshing which to me means clean and fresh like a green tea.

I have been with Steepster.com for over a year, and as I have been able to maneuver the tea blog page that I created, I am continuing with maintaining this tea blog along with the reviewing of tea books and all things to do with having tea.

My wish is to maintain this blog as I have seen others do with their own compiling for years and years it seems.

Thank you for this site.
