711 Tasting Notes
this is one of the very last of the caffeinated teas i have to sample from my tea swaps. all the other samples i have are either ones i bought for myself or herbal.
that’s a lot of teas i got through! i can’t believe i’m up to 482 teas!
this tea, is a thumbs down. but i was avoiding making eye contact with it cuz i’m really weary of cinnamon in my teas. go figure.
thanks Scheherazade for contributing to my tea adventures!
a tea blend i made up from the teas in my desk.
i decided to get creative and fancy. make a thing of it.
cuz this is a desk celebration in honor of the raise and title change i just got! effective 2 days ago!
a hazelnut double vanilla cinnamon black with cream and sugar added.
decadent cake in a cup!
now i will turn my music up and for a moment as i finish sipping . . .
this tea smells INTENSE. heavy handed. so i avoided it for a while imagining it would taste candy sweet even though that makes no sense. i think the scent just reminds me of coffee syrups and they are always too sweet for me.
still, the scent is super strong in the cup.
a good tea for blending with other things. which is why i got it in the first place. (i was making a Sherlock tea.) but not something i would ever drink regularly.
a green puerh!
oh ancient forest!
it’s the usual sweet wood and muddy tasting while adding a tinge of greener freshness. that slight green bitterness you might be used to. totally still a puerh.
it’s an overcast day and this tea is very very warming. the earthiness of a good puerh is unparalleled.
it’s gonna be a good day.
this is a really nice lapsang. really exactly a lapsang. melodious in it’s sweet tones and brooding moodiness.
related side note; i’m a fan of lapsang blends, and if you haven’t tried many and you are adventurous i highly recommend them.
i know they aren’t for everyone, but they make my tea drinking life much brighter.
oh no. i’m still not at my computer today and i have about 10 tea notes i still need to write AND i’m about to drink even MORE TEAS!
this is a really basic vanilla flavored green. i got a tiny bit to see if it would work in a personal blend. i’ll probably use what I have left of this one to play around and try another blend.
Definitely stronger on the tea front and less intense on the spices arena.
it could just be the scoop i pulled from the bag, but having a not so powerful spice flavor is a good thing for me. because i’ve had times when i had a WAY too spicy chai and it kinda scarred me against liking them. i’m just starting to recover i think. mostly thanks to getting to try some good chais like this one!
now that i’ve tried this tea straight i’m REALLY looking forward to brewing it in a hot pan with almond milk and agave Mmmmmm.
Thank you TastyBrew! delish!
got this for my boyfriend. him and my good gal pal are both big mate fans.
i’m kinda meh about them. i mean sure i like them just fine. but if i have a choice i’m always gonna go towards the damp tannins of a black tea.
but yes! this is yummy! and i will be popular and loved for giving this to my friends!
