750 Tasting Notes
How much Candy Corn is too much Candy Corn?
okay okay what i meant to say is, i just ordered like $150 worth of tea from a few different companies cuz my stash is finally running low! it’s very exciting. i’ve learned so much about tea through all the awesome samples so many of you have shared with me over the year. So now that i have room for more tea in my cupboard, it’s great to be able to confidently buy teas i know i will enjoy immensely!
idk where this tea bag came from, lingering in the bottom of a drawer in the kitchen. but it was preserved nicely. and brews rather well.
it’s true, the scent you get when you tear open this tea bag’s packaging is pretty good. and the taste is pretty okay too.definitely not sucky considering it probably came from a grocery store.
i had a kinda zany morning. and i’m definitely too hyper to be around people. i’m gonna put on some modern classical and try to hideout.
this tea bag was in the back of our cupboard at home. no idea how long it was there or where it came from. i know this is probably obvious but basically there are so many chais that are so much better than this one. so just drink those, and leave this one at the supermarket ok? i mean, it’s not even awful, but really, just trust me on this.
i’m getting down to the point where i have almost no more sample or swap teas to try. and all the ones i do have left are herbal.
that is pretty amazing.
but all it means is that i can spend lots of time planning and day dreaming about what tea i’m gonna buy when i have the space!
i got this rooibos to use in a personalized sherlock inspired tea i made for myself.
it’s not offensive. it’s not really anything. i gulped it down and it was gone. sluurp.
okay warning, i’m not really a flower tea kinda gal. i like chocolate and vanilla and cremes and mints and tend to stay away from lavender and rose petals. and his tea is chocolate and rose petals. so i rolled the dice.
and i really wish i liked this one more. it’s good. it’s fine. it’s totally a nice mellow chocolate. and i will definitely drink the whole tin. it’s just that it has a slight alcohol smell to me that i can’t entirely get past it. and i suspect it’s the rose petals.
but i’ll probably come around!
give me a couple weeks drinking this and i’ll be singing it’s glory.
but i still totally LOVE Mistie’s Blend and will buy it always and forever.
umm is this even tea? it tastes like just lemon in water. that is colored very dark. whew. i might lose this tea on the way home. like into the river or something. i’m not a snob really but i don’t like hibiscus much at all and this tea isn’t even trying.
i have had an intensely pms shite day. like don’t ask me what i think about anything and don’t believe anything i say today. and also every song, even bad ones, sound so beautiful and also everybody should just stop moving and look out the window. just sayin.
screw dance class. i’m gonna go watch phil coulson instead.
small tea story
i ran really far on saturday and then went to lunch with my boyfriend and ate everything in sight.
then he had to work for an hr so he dropped me off at the tea shop so i could get a cup! but when i got there they sadly told me they didn’t have any cups!
so then i went to panera to get a cup of tea there instead, but when i got there i was like ‘i don’t want this tea’ and i just asked for a cup and lid instead. the teenage panera-worker said i could just have a cup! hah i took it and ran.
i took the cup back to carytown teas and ordered this Pu-erh. they thought it was funny that i was determined enough to supply my own cup.
this pu-erh is not a super favorite. i kept the tea bag and had a second steep the next day. it’s true that pu-erh can be amazing. when it’s really good it will easily skyrocket to the top of my list! but when it’s mediocre it can tend towards bummer-city. this one is not memorable. and kinda lame.
