758 Tasting Notes
well, i was thinking that i really shouldn’t write a note about this today. cuz my tastebuds aren’t on their best game. and i probably should have steeped this a little lighter. and i DO have more leaf so i can try again. and i’ll do a second steep of this cup. but i kinda also feel like this tea just isn’t for me.
the smell of the leaves was great!
but there’s something about the brewed tea i’m just not finding appealing. i suspect that lime and green tea just don’t mix well for me? maybe?
i might get back to you after the second cup…
thanks for this taste moraiwe!
this is a rooibos i can actually get behind. nice job.
in other news here is a boring picture of an exciting thing.
tasted swap teas on the left, swap teas yet to taste on the right.
do work son!
i think i may be very out of it due to only getting about 3 hours sleep. and i think i may have steeped this tea in not-hot-enough water. and i think i may have slipped into a worm hole because i’m certain this past hour has only lasted 20 min.
forgive me moraiwe but i’m gonna have to review this properly one i become my self again. thanks for the lovely sample!
(posted last night at maybe 2am…)
i’m gonna drink this tea tomorrow.
but i’m up late and full of wine and wanna talk to my steepsters.
this episode of Merlin is good. the second season has much better acting/writing/development. like MUCH BETTER. i’ve cheered at least 5 times during this episode. (yes i’m a cheerer.) (you expected nothing less i’m sure.) plus Gilbet from Being Human is in it. i loved that guy!!
also, did you know how many people are in the Captain America movie? i mean, Thorin (Richard Armitage), and Matrix guy/Star Trek baddie (Hugo Weaving), and even Clara (the impossible girl) from Doctor Who. i only watched the first half of the movie again because, well, i MAY have read some Avengers slash. and i MAY have needed to see the Cap meet papa Stark. maybe.
also, bonus! …my phone texting turns Armitage into ‘armpit age’. which made me laugh so hard i almost shot wine out of my nose.
apparently this week i hate sleeping and fandom will carry me through.
thank you Shelley_Lorraine for sending me this decaf.
i drank it very peacefully, and with no excitement. and calmly read some Teen Wolf fic my sister recommended. and then we shared beans and toast and she drank the tea pot with me. very calmly and warming. because it’s DECAF. and i have enthusiasm for getting to try this nice adagio evening option, but no excitement for it. cuz it’s DECAF you see. decaf.
i will very likely try some of the other decafs adagio has to offer too.
just smelling the dry leaf…i can tell i’m going to love this tea. i’m in the mood for this tea today. i need this tea today. and i only have the one cup so i’m gonna cherish every sip. (i will try a re-steep).
lightly citrusy and mushily creamy. so musical.
thank you whatshesaid!
i taught myself to play the misty mountain song from The Hobbit on my viola. i also learned the sherlock theme melody. and i am considering stenciling the 221b Baker street wallpaper design onto one of my bedroom walls.
i have been rather busy as of late. i want to give everyone’s adorable discussions and comments lots of attention, but i just can’t seem to dig out the time. sadly.
this tea. nicely played little tea. i brewed it up kind haphazardly and wasn’t trying too hard to choose a tea, i was like whatevs, and the second i tasted it i was all “hey! … i like this! yum!” gulp gulp gulp
it was gone in record time.
could have been the hours i spent in the sun i suppose? but yum!
so good Shelley_Lorraine. so good.
to bad this isn’t for sale! but hopefully eventually…
“The Tea Calendar has been launched in a limited special edition. It is very expensive, handmade and not commercially available in this form. This first edition will be followed by a longer development phase in which the Tea Calendar is to be brought to market.”
eventually brought to market. i’ll be looking for it cuz i’m SO CURIOUS.
i’m sure you tea pros probably wanna throttle me by now.
all i do is yammer on about fictional characters and whimsical moods and my cat’s pretty fur and i barely ever really talk about the tea. not like some of you can. AND THIS IS NO EXCEPTION. cuz i made the tea. i drank the tea. i liked the tea. but i’m really not getting much of the deep details from it. some people drink a tea and then they talk about it like it’s a 5 course meal in the rain by a fire! i feel a bit left out.
but i am a diligent student. and if i put in the time i’m sure it will pay off eventually. and if not that’s okay too. but incase it does pay off, i have more of this tea to drink! i’ll save it and try it again in a few months when i feel more susceptible and receptive.
until then, me and my tongue are gonna go pump some tea iron.
