Tea #16 from the traveling tea box.
I made this first thing this morning and somehow forgot all about it. When I finally rediscovered it I tossed it in the fridge to enjoy cold later in the day. This makes a pretty nice iced tea if you like rooibos. The vanilla gives it just a hint of sweetness that really appealed to me.
With a five minute steep time I can taste more vanilla bean than cacao and the rooibos comes through very strong. Since I’m not a huge fan of rooibos this tea isn’t for me.
Preparation
Thanks to Katiek for sending this to me in her incredibly generous mystery tea box.
I’ve been on an herbal/decaf kick the last few days due to Travelling Tea Box C (there was a huge amount of herbal/decaf teas in it) and now I’m suffering the consequences. I’ve got a bit of a caffeine withdrawal headache and need to do something about it. I decided to cold steep this today since it has assam as well as peppermint in it. The assam and mint are perfectly balanced and this makes one tasty iced tea. It was also the perfect cure for my caffeine withdrawal.
Preparation
Tea #15 from the traveling tea box.
While I enjoyed this more than most chocolate teas, it still isn’t quite what I’m looking for. I think that the hazelnut is nice, but weaker than what I was craving. This ended up being slightly nutty with a hint of chocolate. I tried this plain, but I think I may have preferred it dressed up with a bit of milk and sugar.
Preparation
Tea #14 from the traveling tea box.
Ah, Earl Grey how I love you, you’ve always been my favorite. This is a pretty mild Earl Grey compared to the Rishi Earl Grey that I normally drink. I like that it is decaf and still manages to have a nice flavor, even if it isn’t as strong as I would like.
