Supposedly there is apple flavoring in here. I can’t really taste it though. Brewed for 6 minutes but I could not drink it without some sugar added. It was pretty bland without it. (One day I will find a rooibos that I can drink without doctoring it…)

With the sugar, however, the apple came out a bit, especially at the bottom of the mug where I guess the sugar accumulated. And the last few sips were absolutely delicious, and reminded me of a baked cinnamon apple. Yummy. Just a bit unhappy about how much sugar is needed to bring out that flavor. (I’m drinking this stuff for its health properties, and adding sugar seems to defeat the purpose for me.)

I’m a tea-aholic. I’ve always loved tea. It is soothing and warm and comforting. I always had it when we went out to eat as a child so my first association is with rich and delicious food.

As an adult, I’m learning to enjoy tea on its own merits, and bask in its subtleties and varieties. The ritual of making a cup of tea is instantly relaxing.

I prefer oolong and white teas, followed by greens, and then blacks. For the most part I do not like flavored or blended teas, and I never add sugar or cream to tea from the actual tea plant.

I’m slowly learning to appreciate rooibos blends, which I drink for its anti-inflammatory properties.
