Im finally at school with all my teas! This tea is from LauraR’s massive tea purge that I got in the mail today =)
I saw this as it was steeping going red and I’m thinking, god damn it what’s in here that’s doing this. Answer: hibiscus. And of course that’s all I taste when I sipped it. The aftertaste was VERY pleasant though and I could actually taste some peach and jasmine, but I don’t know why the hell they put hibiscus in it.. sigh. There goes a potentially super awesome tea.

This is a perfect cup of chai.
Everything balances out so nicely. The spices are perfect, and the lemongrass goes really well with the genmaicha.

This tea is decent but it kind of has an artificial flavor to it. Maybe this is the fault of the packaging from the distributor I bought it from (Breckenridge spice merchants). It’s very lemongrass-y and I can taste some coconut but I don’t taste ginger at all.

Cha Yen Thai by Teavana
This time I mixed it with some of Joy’s Spicy Chai.
The result: Mocha (Don’t ask how the chocolate got there…)
I’m serious, this is probably the most full bodied cup of tea I’ve ever drank.

Why is Joy so awesome. Out of all the tea I’ve tasted in the past half a year since I started the addiction, I know I’m sticking with this company.
(They make the best spiced teas!!! yummm)
Also in my order with this tea was a huge chunk of spicy chai, sun kissed jasmine, and a bit of spicy pear. And now they carry ayuverdic blends! aahhhh!!!

A typical green tea. Got it at a restaurant and was happy enough that they gave me “real” tea. It’s pretty standard – not really bitter or astringent.
My favorite teas are high mountain, Wuyi, and dancong oolongs. I also need my deep steamed sencha every now and then. I’m not totally into flavoreds but I’m always up for interesting flavors (like ATR’s Nirvana and Toasted Fig). My favorite natural flavors are roasted and floral.
